bedding pads/rotors - Click HERE for Original Thread

anyone know of a good area on the northside to properly bed new rotors??? the specs on the sheet are 6-8 stops from 35mph (not a hard stop but don't drag the brakes)
4-5 stops hard from 45-50mph but don't slam the brakes

I want to do this as safely as possible.... I was thinking of doing it early in the morning on a weekend.... possibly with a car behind me with the hazards on..... but any opinions on where would be good to do this??

I'm sure any secondary highway will do. That way, you wouldn't have to keep stopping and turning around. You could just stop and go with no traffic.

interesting good point... also between the stops it says they want you to drive 10 mins without stopping between to cool off the brakes....

Yea so I would choose a secondary highway maybe early in the morning or later at night.

If you have time head East down the Yellowhead out past Sherwood Park and head either North (to Ft. Sask) or South (Ardrossan/Park). The roads are in great condition and there are even some nice hills and twisties (but there is still some gravel...). I only see police on the major roads out there so you shouldn't be hassled, its still probably a good idea to use your hazards.

I always used to do this on the highway out to Ft. Sask at 3:00 AM, after doing the brakes at the end of a workday. Note that Friday/Saturday nights are not necessarily the time to be "driving erratically." ;)

167 Ave used to work well too, back when everything north of there was open fields. Probably not so much, now.

hmm sounds good... ya I figured I would do it most likely late on a sunday

Definitely not in Castlebrook ... bedding in my brakes cost me $182 or some crap like that out there. 64 in a 50 zone that should really be a 60 zone (4 lanes, divided by a median with no actual houses fronted on it).
