Are these JDM's legit? - Click HERE for Original Thread

Looking for JDM headlights... (still interested Adam, don't worry yet), just wondering how you tell if they are actually JDM.

Ebay JDM headlights

Yes, I know I should get the black ones, but most of us don't have horseshoes stuck up our asses... Adam.

On that note, if anybody knows of or ever sees a good deal on some black JDM housings, let me know!

EDIT: Or how bout these?
Straight from the island

Prudz_lude
go with the second one. They are both real, but the second one is cheaper. lol at horseshoes? i don't get it.

Also, what you can do with those chrome ones is bake them in the oven, take the lens cover off and paint the chrome material housing black. Then they will look just like mine. There is a write up on preludepower how to do it.

2ndgenlude
be a good idea considering the silver one pieces are half the price, if not less. one piece silver would look good on a silver car though. and a heads up kurtis, your hid kit won't work in jdm headlights. they use a different bulb.

Prudz_lude
yup, the jdm's need h4's. But you could get them for $125 like tyler and I did

walkur1
Are you kidding me??

I can't believe my stupidity... oh well, maybe this is just a way of curbing my spending for the summer. Would it be possible to just buy the bulbs and use my existing ballasts/igniters? Why is JDM so counter-logical?

Also, think there is any resale value for 9006 bulbs?

As for the horseshoes... never heard that expression before? Horseshoes are considered to be lucky by some, and when somebody has obscene amounts of luck and you are frustrated at your own, you can semi-flame them by saying they shove lucky horseshoes up their rear-ends.

Prudz_lude
lol ok now i get it.

Yah, you could easily resell yours for $125 and just buy the h4's for $125.

walkur1
Off-topic, but would somebody know where to get some hose so that I could hookup Tyler's intake and test it out finally? What all would I need? Pipe/hose, clamps, vacuum lines? What else?

Prudz_lude
that is about it. Go to JB's they have everything you will need. Even new filters.

...Speaking of JDM Headlights I happen to have a few pairs at home... How cheap is cheap to you?

walkur1
So I don't know if I should try to get both headlights replaced with USDM oem ones, or buy the silver JDM one-pieces... I don't like the fact that my HID's would be useless, but I could just sell mine and buy a different set, I guess. The JDM's say that it's not a direct bolt-on replacement though... what's the deal with that?

Silver JDMs

2ndgenlude
they are bolt up. but the bumper has to come off. they are a bit of a pain to put in.

mike3
haha yeah, they're a lot harder to install then you'd think. You could easily do it in an afternoon, its just a bit of a PITA

NathanRed
they are but the silvers are cheap buy them these are only 80

Prudz_lude
you mean $165 lol. $85 shipping if you read that sale. Still i vote 1 piece silvers.

NathanRed
lol my bad i see now how i get raped on egay

2ndgenlude
ryan just bought a armrest from the same seller as the 2nd link. came really fast from tokyo. like 5business days.

walkur1
I want those headlights... and really, 160 isn't that bad. Think they will get dinged at customs?

walkur1
Well I bit the bullet... somebody else had the nerve to bid before me. So right now I'm the leading bidder, and there is roughly 10 hours left. Hopefully, if I win, customs won't charge me too much, and that the install will be somewhat painless.

On a side note, assuming these stupid lights have the same bulbs as the black JDM's, I have a pair of 6000k 9006 HID's for sale...
