rebuilding rotarys - Click HERE for Original Thread

revvin7
hi,
I would like to know how many of you guys have had your rotarys rebuilt and where you got it done. Also how much did it cost. I know some of the guys in edmonton in the rx7 club can rebuild engines and i was curious as to how much a basic rebuild and a streetport would be.
thanks

now
the cost of doing a rebuild is directly proportional to how much needs to
be replaced. if you are really lucky and housings are good and everything
else is good, its not that much, but if you run it until it dies then the
cost really goes up.
regardless of how much is wrong it takes lots of labor time + basic
parts this is where the basic cost comes from.
I have a couple engines on hand and the cost is about
86-88 n/a $ 2000.00 + core
if your core is a running motor in good condition just in need of a rebuild
costs can be less, but basically that's the cost, i know conroy has them for less.

matt
