Well summer is soon upon us and that means the Z's can come out and play. The spring fun runs destination is Crimson Lake Provicial park outside of Rocky Mountain House. I have a nice route planned, the approx run time is about 2.5 hours on some nice black top.
On this run you can almost see the mountains, thought I would post and let the masses know.
Cheers,
Tim (Grace Too) |

I made this thread a sticky and cleaned it up, so Tim can add some details.
Open to all Nissan/Datsun/Infiniti Z-Car enthusiasts, and its a no-charge event. |

Thanks Jason,
This is the route a visual map will follow. I should also mention you will get a map and directions the day of. My mission, cough our mission is that no one gets left behind and or lost.
Cheers,

here's the run out map:
On the return, I suggest heading north on Hwy 22 from Rocky Mountain House to the hwy 39 intersection (long and flat :( ), right to sec. hwy 759, left to sec. hwy 627, right to hwy 30 past the south end of Wabamun to the mighty Jellohead Hwy. Like so:
I've biked that way a couple of times, it's better than droning home on QE2.

| I thinking I'm not going to make it. Two reasons, one I'm up to my knees in dirt doing re-landscaping, two the weather forecast for Edmonton, Red deer, and Rocky shows +12 and rain. Do we have a rain out plan? |
|
|
| ~30oZ~ |
Ya, unfortunately if it's raining I'm out. :dunno:
EDIT: It doesn't look like it's going to be too bad, So I'm still in!  |

Are we going to let a little rain stop us?
Roadside stop in Rimbey

local powerpole hangout site

convertible back windows have poor visibility, especially hanging the camera over your shoulder

Works better out the window, rain & fog notwithstanding

Ah, excellent, they haven't moved the park on us

The cars: 4 Z cars, two Infinitis, a Sentra, and some yellow monster (my apologies, he offered to haul any breakdowns home in the roofbox)

The people: y'all know who you are (minus yours truly, taking the snap)

It was a wet but fun expedition. Crimson Lake is a nice, out of the way destination, with covered cookshack and sand beach.
We had a 'British' run out (wet and foggy) and a 'very spirited' run back.
Thanks to Tim M. for planning the route and Jane M. for supplies and sundries. Also thanks to Prez Doug K. for the kickass Weber portable BBQ, which I understand is new club property... smokies were awesome.
As usual, the fun and fellowship made the Sunday drive a hit.

Not a bad turnout.
I wasn't able to make it as I was golfing yesterday with my family, who were in town for the weekend. Thankfully we didn't get soaked, just a mild drizzle at times. |

I managed to make it! I was actually the one driving the Z with the H2 body kit. ;)
Thanks for inviting me out, Shaun! And thanks to everyone for making me feel welcome - you guys are great. :)
I actually won't have the H2 much longer - trading it in for cash-back so I can finally get the family into a house of some description. :) Just trying to decide on what to buy... decisions, decisions. And far too many new vehicles coming out soon too! |
