Fuel cut switch - Click HERE for Original Thread

Beholder
Hey... I was just wanting to get some info on how to setup a fuel cutoff switch.. I know it helps a lot with flooding issues, and its added security, which is great..
If anyone could give me adivce on what to connect the switch to, that would be great.
Also, what gauge of wire should I use?

Mobius
Have you got the factory wiring diagrams for the FC?

In any case, the best thing is to interrupt the power for the fuel pump relay. The relay is located under the steering column inside the car.

mine is real handy  . except its still kinda in plain view. do you know how to use it? like on hot and cold startups?

zerro
the fuel relay fuse is under the steering column...which has five wires...cut the middle one which i believe is black and has a white stripe...and connect ur switch..it takes about five mins to do it.

Cheemoney
hiding the switch under the steering column is genius! mine is conveniently positioned under my stereo with on and off labeled haha.

thanks a lot guys! thats in the perfect position, and its right where I want it, Labeling it as a stereo switch is a great idea as well.

Oooookay, I've run the wires, placed and wired my switch, I found the black wire with the white stripe.. and I'm going to go cut it now, I'm a little paranoid, even considering that I'm an electrician... so wish me luck

:fingersx:

me too. i just bought my rx7 2 weeks ago? does anyone else have a symptom when putting gas into their tank they can't squeeze the nozzle all the way because it stops (like the tank is full) but it isn't? does it have to do with the cut off switch? on or off its hard putting gas into my tank and i can only squeeze the nozzle 1/4 of the way for gas to consistently go into my car.

pull the nozzle back and up so it is pointing down into the tank. it only needs to just push open the rollover flap. it has nothing to do with the switch
