so i just bought some coilovers and dc sports headers for a fucking ridiculous low price at the car swap at powerama but i have a question about the coilovers, so they are ground control coilovers with eibach springs my question is can i run these with my stock shocks?

2ndgenlude
you can depending on the drop you want. anymore then say 1.5 inches and your better off to get aftermarkets. then again im lowered 2 inches on some no name springs and stock shocks, but im sure they will blow out or start leaking soon.. did you get the wrenches to lower and raise them? not sure if ground controls come with em or not. they come in different spring rates too. might be written on the spring.

NathanRed
ill have to check but i got these springs and the dc sports header with down pipe for 180 total

NathanRed
i dont think i got the wrenches tho, is that going to be a problem?

2ndgenlude
im just got sure how they adjust up and down. unless its by hand. springs pack a bunch of pressure once they are on the car though lol. i know tiens have a special wrench. but you should be ok. worst case make a makeshift one or order one from ground control if they exist. awesome price for both parts though.

NathanRed
i think i should be alright adam just came by to check shit out too so, i just dont want to blow my stock struts so i might buy some shocks before i install the springs although my car looks 4x4 right now, would i need a camber kit too?

I am amazed yours are not leaking. You must have soft springs lol. Scott's blew up in a few weeks. Also, spring rate is what will determine if your shocks will start leaking, not the drop.

yah a camber kit is a good idea, also, you do need a wrench. Never knew you did not have one. You should be able to find one easily though online or someone who has coilovers as well.

NathanRed
i just went on the site they said u dont need a wrench you raise your car up and adjust by hand

Prudz_lude
thats awesome. Most you need a wrench.

Ground Control Spring Kits

This spring kit gives you the option to customize the ride height of your vehicle. After several years of use in racing applications, Ground Control spring kits have been adapted for street use. Most other spring kits offer only one set ride height when installed. The Ground Control system's unique design allows for easy adjustment. Simply lift the corner(s) of the vehicle that you wish to adjust and spin the adjustable spring seat up or down to raise or lower the vehicle*. Ground Control spring kits are also designed to be used with either stock or aftermarket shocks.

*Some applications require the use of a provided wrench.

i was pretty excited especially the deal i got adam u got a link for those shocks

Did you get these things from a private sale? Or did somebody have a discount booth at Powerama? Is it still on?

NathanRed
matrix motorsports had a table there but i assure you there is nothing left for any 4th gen ludes last set of adjustable coilovers and the only header for any car besides a civic

redwall177

lovinthespeed
i would recomend you get new shocks if you have the springs off it takes evan less effort if you buy new shocks casue than its a few bolts nad than a couple bolts back in man. and shocks arent that exspencive man, i recomend new shocks.

NathanRed
ya thats the route im going to go and ya the shocks and the header was underneath the table and facing in so you couldnt tell it was for a lude
