Which one is better?

Grand Theft Auto is about to come out, and I need to buy a new console for it.

I hear mixed reviews about which to buy.

I like to play first person shooters, some sports games, and GTA.

Will I see a big difference in graphics between the two?

360 FTMFW!!!

the ps3 has its ups, but if your looking for pure gaming you want a 360.

I have both...and only use the ps3 for blu-ray.
X2 on the 360 FTMFW!!!

AudiInProgress
Neither, they're both for fags.

silviadrftr
360 for gaming, ps3 for movies....

MKIV SUPRA
Xbox 360 for tons of games
Playstation 3 for the other stuff

MKIV SUPRA
For online 360 by far too

Driven
Yea i agree... 360 for the games. PS3 for movies/bluray.

JoshP2002

Why would you spend so much on ps3? Just to watch movies? And what does FTMFW mean? Anyway my thoughts are Xbox is by far the better, xbox live is awesome. It doesn't get any better than Gears of War online. You can met some really cool people..

I only play rockband, pretty much same for either system. PS3=free online + bluray. :dunno:

My situation exactly. I'm not a big gamer, so I wouldn't say I'm in a position to say which is "better", but the PS3 meets my needs better than a 360.

To watch movies...? its the cheapest alternative to buying a stand-alone blu-ray player and its a vid game system/media center as well.

There online is free but the features, user friendly and stuff like is totally different. It's $50 a year not a lot. It works out to be like $4 a month.

Rich_A
the PS3 is like a PC, gaming console and a blu ray player.

the 360 is a gaming console that can hold a lot of songs

you have to buy a lot shit for the 360 just to get the stuff PS3 comes standard with such as true HD, wifi and rechargeable controllers.

So since you have the blue ray and have watched movies on it, is it worth it? Can you really see that much of a difference? Media Center?

Drave
There's very little games for the PS3 right now, but they're coming out with alot more. The 360 has alot of games right now, but still has alot more on the way. It's preference really, if you're going to play online, go with the 360.

with a bigscreen tv and expensive audio equipment...yes its a very very clear diff.

media center because I have it hooked up to my pc so I can stream music and video digitally for once again...great sound and picture.

Very Nice

"Anything you can do I can do better!"

PC > *!*

SATA Blu Ray drives for PC's are quite affordable at the moment, I believe just over $100, and PC's are so versatile...

Watch movies, download porn, play videogames... Just to name a few things. Chat? Do Homework? Surf the Web? Sure!

Not only can you play videogames, but you can customize your display settings; Anti-Aliasing, Anisotropic Filtering, Mip Map Details, Triple Buffering... etc \
Not to mention running at whatever resolution you want.

Each progressive generation of console that comes out is ridiculously expensive. What were the PS3's upon launch? $700+

And if you end up buying a new console or multiple consoles every couple of years... Why not just plunk that money into a PC?

Controls are more adaptable on a PC. And a PC is almost as portable as a console.

Where's the downside? Waiting for game releases I guess... Because so many faggot console kiddies keep buying consoles, developers are pushing games for consoles first and releasing for PC second... Weak.

Graphicdude
And that's the reason why no one will build up a computer and continue purchasing consoles. I would take your advice but since you can't get the GT series on PC or some other titles, that is why I would still buy a console.

kornsined
I'm on my 3rd 360. I'm sick of them breaking so I'm phasing it out and mostly using my PS3. The 360's power bar is whining like a bitch now too.

Jord@n
To me the choice was easy. Buy a bluray player for 200-300, or buy a PS3 for 400... :p

Actually the PS3 is not just a blu-ray player, its a kick-ass blu-ray player that has beaten some standalone $1000 players in independant testing. (Sound & Vision magazine is one such source).

I haven't bought either next gen console yet because I'm still enjoying my PS2, which is still benefitting from new title releases.

But when the time comes I will probably buy the PS3.

MKIV SUPRA
Off topic but what system would be the best for gta I have both systems ps3 or 360?

I agree PC are better... for 2 reasons, processing capability, and the fact I will always have atleast 1... so might as well build it well..
Anyhow, PCs cuz i can play my sim games on them, Falcon4, FlightSim, Silent hunter.

The good thing about Consoles is the fact that you can rent games though.. and that is priceless... for a cheap man like me atleast.. ( i dont have a console)

From all the reports that I am reading it seems the ps3 version runs smoother and looks better.

Here is one article from today:
http://planetgrandtheftauto.gamespy...y.php?id=150387

"Interesting indeed, I myself - who is a big fan of the Xbox 360 - will be getting the PlayStation 3 version, as I've read and heard personally from people who have played the game already that this version is undoubtedly superior to the Xbox 360. Granted, not as much that I would recommend going out to buy a PS3 console if you have a 360 already. Too bad that episodic content is Xbox exclusive, is Take-Two/Rockstar regretting that decision now? "

j5tar
^PS3 FTW! Yeah, GTA runs better on the PS3 from the IGN reviews. Even the Rockstar Boss says its better.

stealth
Hmm, hard decision.

I am leaning towards the PS3 because the only games I will play is GTA: IV, and some soccer/hockey games.

Also the ability to stream shit from your computer to it.

games will be better looking/playing on the ps3 of course..because it too them so long to release it. The ability to stream shit is alot better on the 360...kinda helps that they are both microsoft products

stealth
Oh, I can send movies to an XBOX 360 and play them off of their?

you can send anything (movies/music/pics), I like its networking alot better than the ps3 even though they both do the same thing.

the only true downside to the 360 is the blu-ray.

stealth
Yea, I don't plan on watching much Blu-Ray.

People say in the future PS3 will out shine XBOX.

Man this is a hard decision. I want to buy something today, but can't decide.

j5tar
PS3 can stream stuff too or save it to the hard drive. It really depends on the games. I personally got it for GT5, and Socom.

stealth
Well it seems like PS3 is winning, because of the slightly better graphics.

Not really depending on how you hook it up and your t.v. By the way if you got a 360 or ps3 which models would you be looking at.

stealth
360 I would be looking at the Elite.

PS3 I would be looking at the 40 gig, as that is all that I see available lately.

deathwarden5
I'm only thinking of buying PS3 within the next year because of GT5. I'm STILL playing GT4 to this day.

Other than the GT series, I would choose the 360. It's online capabilities and selection of games beats out the PS3. Graphics are nice, but its no good if your always playing by yourself. I'll take online gaming over graphics.

stealth
Well I got a PS3 today.

Don't know what made me do it but I did.

I played COD4 online, and felt their were enough players.

Noob, What a lame word!!!!!! At some point every one is new to online gaming.

stealth
Thats all they called the new guys.

Thats what you expect when you play with 12 year old kids.
