As of today this is the first time since I signed up for my mortgage 3.5 years ago at 4.35% that the variable rate would have been lower than my fixed rate. As long as it doesn't go too much lower I should still be better off with the fixed rate. :fingersx:


PS. I think the OP should have just added this to his other thread about rate cuts expected just 5 days ago rather than continue his quest to start 100% of the threads in this forum with "An interesting read..." :p

Pretty much a given the banks would follow but there was talk a few months ago that they may just increase their take. Good to see they haven't done that yet.
