The price customers are paying for the 2008 Chevrolet Malibu has soared compared to the old model, and actually exceeds what people are paying for the average Toyota Camry, General Motors said today.

The average transaction price for 2008 Malibus is $20,954, a full $4,000 more than the 2007 Malibu and $200 higher than the 2008 Camry, said Chevrolet chief Ed Peper. The transaction price reflects any incentives or other deals automakers offer on vehicles, so it's a better measure of success than the sticker price.
“We're selling more Malibus with higher trim levels and attracting younger and better-educated customers than we did with the old model,” Peper said.
He added that 38% of Malibu buyers are trading in a non-GM vehicle, another key goal, and that the Camry is the car most frequently traded in for a Malibu.

and the Camry doesn't?
After taking everything in consideration, Safety, Interior space, performance, styling my picks would be:
1. Accord
2. Malibu (very close 2nd to the Accord)
3. Camry
That's my opinion so suck it. :p |

| i have done PDI's on many of the 08 malibus. as much as i hate domestics i am very impressed by the detail/performance of the car (mainly LTZ models as the lower models with ecotec engines lick balls). |
