Boondock Saints.
I took a chance and watched this film last weekend on whim just because it was on.
I can't believe in all these years I've never seen this movie or noone has even mentioned it to me.
The only big star in it is William Dafoe. It has to rate atleast a 9 on the scale of awesomeness.
It doesn't even show it's age despite being made in 1999 (although casting Billy Connolly was probably the most tragic part). I could've done without the William Dafoe Man kiss too... I choked back vomit during that scene.
I was just in awe of the fact that I've never watched this before and just how slick it is.
Definitely a watcher.
Outpost
This was made in 2008 and wasn't too bad at all. Maybe because I think Ray Stevenson is a badass mo-fo (Titus Pullo from Rome television series)
A group of mercenaries get hired to accompany a scientist to retrieve some sort of device from an old Nazi WWII in war torn europe. Nazis were experimenting on soldiers to produce an unstoppable army.
Interesting ideas and writing. |

Agreed great movie
Bubba Ho-Tep was on the other night and I watched it again, Bruce Campbell is great.
Black Sheep(not the Farley/Spade one) was entertaining as well, its a Kiwi flick about zombie sheep. Weta did the effects so it looked really good and seeing a huge flock of blood thirsty sheep streaming down a hillside was cool. |

Bubba Ho-Tep is a great movie ^^
Gattaca: I'm not sure if this movie falls under obscure, but whenever I bring it up in conversation it's very rare that another person in the discussion has seen it. Which is surprising because it's not like it's a small time cast. Ethan Hawke, Uma Therman, and Jude Law are in it.
It's seriously the best Sci-Fi movie I've ever seen. |

A movie I keep wanting to see again is Screamers. The man made killing machines in the ground. Was a wicked movie from what I remember.
I watched Outpost the other night. I rented it thinking it would be a cheezy B movie but it was really good. I love it when a movie exceeds expectations.
If you want to see an obscure strange movie, rent Escanaba in da Moonlight. It's a Jeff Damiels movie. I think it's great, very strange.

Agreed.
I'm always surprised how many people haven't actually seen it. Classic for sure. |

Salvador.
Though that movie fucked me up for a while. El Salvadorian (and lots of other latin americans) immigrated to canada for some very very very good reasons. This film shows them. Think twice before watching.
Big Trouble in Little China.
Easily Kurt Russel's best part, ever. You're either into it, or not, but either way it's a perfect example of how to tell a story through film.
Ghost Dog: Way of the Samurai.
The zen of dirty urban life, the zen of cutting a film. Forrest Whitaker as a freelance hitman with a life debt to a mid level mafia captain? It works, but the while the minimalist directorial style is a great way to demonstrate the philosophical point of view, it isn't for those looking for tons of explosions and titanic ships sinking. Don't worry, there is gunplay.
Way of the Gun.
Ryan Phillipe and Benicio Del Toro are crooks looking to "step off the path" and make a big play by kidnapping a pregnant surrogate mother. They maybe should have looked into who the child belongs to first. Great story twists. In my opinion this film is tied for first in best gunfights with Black Hawk Down. Go watch it. The story is good enough even your chick will be interested. |

When I saw the Post Title, I was actually intending on saying Boondock Saints. Probably my favorite movie...
On that note, I can't find anywhere that sells a copy, any ideas?
Other than the internet.

I found a special edition of Boondock Saints at Best Buy a couple months ago... Came in a fancy metal dvd box with a cross and a second disc with all kinds of cut footage and stuff.
Funny thing is, I have no idea where the damn thing went.
Maybe my wife stole it. |

Way of the Gun is very good, probably some of the most realistic gunfghts you'll see on film. The technical advisor for the film knew his shit.
Beast of War 1988- During the war in Afghanistan a Soviet tank crew commanded by a tyrannical officer find themselves lost and in a struggle against a band of Mujahadeen guerrillas in the mountains.
Not too shabby for a film made in '88.
Constantine 2005- I'm sure everyone knows about this film. But few have seen it. I've always maintained that if it wasn't for Canoo playing the lead role, this movie would've fared much better. But a pretty interesting take on the whole life, death, Heaven and Hell thing. |

Just watched Diary of the Dead yesterday, it's George Romero's return to low-budget. I'd say it was decent, an original approach anyway. If you're a fan of his movies pick it up. Not sure if it's in movie stores yet, but there's lots of quality rips on the usual torrent sites.
I think I'm going to have to rent that Outpost, looks like the kinda fluff I'd enjoy. It's not quite Werewolf Women of the SS, but it will due.

I gotta disagree with Big Trouble in Little China being Kurt Russell’s best part. I didn't get that movie at all, I always though John Carpenter made a left turn there. Now if you said the Thing, Escape from New York or LA then I'd have to agree. |

| Oh also I recently watched Zombie 2 (aka Zombie: Flesh Eaters). It's an early Zombie movie done by Lucio Fulci, again if you're a fan of the genre watch it. It has some pretty awesome scenes one including a really well done fight between a zombie and a shark! |

You also gotta check out "The Story of Ricky" or "Ricky Oh". The title is not always the same, but it's still a mortal combat version on a prison film. As a matter of fact, you can watch it online here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnhLtB3n25c
I also liked "Battle Royale". When a country has a problem with not enough jobs for graduating high school students, the obvious solution is to give them all weapons and put them on an island where only the last one alive gets to leave. |

| Anyone watched "A Scanner Darkly"? Has Keanu in it. Basically, he is an undercover cop that is trying to stop a drug epidemic and he is also hooked on the drug. I want to say the movie is "cell shaded" but I don't believe it is. Everything essentially does have a hand-drawn overlay to it. Really, really good movie IMO. |

I also liked him in Captain Ron, 3000 miles to Graceland and Soldier. He is a pretty good actor if you look at what he has been in. They are usually really good movies. |

Perfume was decent...... I saw it a while back.... Unique storyline anyways.
Existenz I watched last night.... I see where the matrix got their ideas from. I thought it was pretty good, and the wife enjoyed it as well.

Nope, I don't believe anyone has. Very good flick.
Did anyone here see Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure? (just part 1, part 2 was not so good) |
