That was an interesting read

the price of rice now are getting ridiculous, $5.78 for 2kgs of rice but before it was $17 for 20kgs of rice..

Kiddo
yup also popular Rooster Scented Rice used to be 15.98/bag, currently at 21.98/bag. Superstore might be out, Real Canadian Wholesale Club on the west side is still receiving anywhere between 200-400 bags a day and selling at 21.98 so if you want some go there.

Silverbane
South Edmonton Wal-mart has no rice and we are not expecting to have any for quite some time. Sold over 10 pallets of rice in less then a week.

Kiddo
if anyone is still looking the west side wholesale club has on had 32 pallets of red rooster jasmine rice and 12 pallets of suraj basamati rice... the prices have sky rocketed though, rooster is now 23.98 for the first 2, 26.98 after 2. Basamati rice is now 38.99 in multiples of 2, 39.99 less than full multiples

Makes me appreciate rice a bit more.
I had a wicked curry dish tonight.. I just cant imagine it without rice. :dunno:

HiTempguy
I don't ever eat rice. I was listening to 630 CHED, and its like the one guy said, "Why would I want to eat rice? I mean, if I go to a restraunt and the side that comes with my meal is rice I don't even touch it."

For a carb food I'd much rather have pasta of some sort!

Thats the great part of supply and demand. If you want it you'll pay whatever for it. I love steamed rice, but im the same, im not going to pay that much for it.
