So, my co-worker really likes the Solstice, and is thinking about buying one.
Is the Pontiac Solstice a Chick Magnet? or a Chick Car?

| they only people i see driving those cars are older women with their girlfriend. That and those SKY cars as well. I have only seen 1 guy driving one before. They look tacky, get something cleaner. |

GXP and redline are definitely not "chick" cars, though I'm sure there are lots of girls who would appreciate the extra power.
Seems like almost every small 2 seat roadster gets called a chick car. |

The colour can really change the impression of the car as well.

I wouldn't call it a chicks car, but I definitely wouldn't get the N/A version and I would have to really think about getting a GXP. It does however resemble the mk3 mr2's which are a total fag car, you have to own a loose flappy ass hole to want one of those. To me the Sky/Solstice is kind of like the Miata, you definitely would have to be a pretty confident guy to buy one.
An s2000 is soooo much better in every way... |

I think what you have to realize is that most chicks (notice I said most) don't have a friggin clue about cars, or care about their performance. So while car enthusiasts may deride you for rocking what is perceived as a "chicks car", most girls out there would think that your Teh Shiat for driving a "hot little two seater convertible.
You want a chicks car that is a convertible... look at the sebring.
IMO sky > solstice in regards to looks for a guys car, but the solstice can be done up pretty well as well. And if you think you can't afford the GXP/Redline version, then wait a couple of months and save up a bit more money to buy one. |

It's the 2 Seater convertibles that usually get the 'Chick' Car name...
All sexual preference jokes aside, Personally... I Like the SKY. Not so much the Solstice, but.. I find they are both nice cars... The Solstice looks a bit too high though.. They should have made it look lower to the ground, not raised up... :p |

| i dont mind either of the cars, i think i would buy one for my girlfriend and drive it once and a while. i imagine they are fun to drive.. i do like the more aggresive look of the sky though. |

| the solstice is beating the miata class for class in most auto crossing across the US. its a margonably better N/A car than a miata and turboed it rocks. tonnes of aftermarket coming out for them. bang for the buck is good. who ever compared it to a gutless, torqueless, s2000 needs to get there head examined. the s2000 is the queen of chick cars..... oh well just my opinion. |
