:dunno: Is it just me or is the guy retarded for going through with the procedure even though he was recommended not to? |

Hahaha yep, I stopped reading after that. Anything he has to say is worthless after the doctors warned him not to do it. |

My wife had it done..... its been a few months, the worst side effect is dry eyes when she's overtired.
20/15 vision, worth the money.
His case, idiocity.... deserves it. |

I just got it done a few weeks ago.
It is so f'n nice to not have to worry about Contacts, and Glasses anymore. They get a bit dry still, but that goes away I guess. I just carry eye drops around, and look like a pot head always putting them in. |

I had it done at 18, I am 25 now. After the procedure I had 20/20 vision but this last year I found myself needing glasses during night driving. Nothing major and my prescription is nothing like it used to be. Maybe its just part of aging?
I was told that I was a bit young to get it done but I went through with it anyways. I still think it was worth it. |

| good to hear most of the people here that had it done have no major side effects. The place I work at now, will pay for it, so it looks like ill bet getting this done inthe summer time |

Is it common to have to wear glasses later on in life after Lasik?
And can you have it "corrected" again, or is it a one shot deal? |

No the poor night vision side effect has been fixed. They used to use a laser that only went 6mm in diameter. Now they have a rotating 2mm laser that does a 9mm area.
So now at night your pupil will never be able to dialate more than the area that was done (like before).
Your eyes could be light sensitive at night for a bit, but it goes away in time. |

Your eyes will still naturally regress. The laser surgery doesnt stop that.
Depending on your situation you can get re-evaluated and have it done again later if your eyes do regress. |

| I've heard of two people having PRK done instead of lasik and in the end it sounds like it's a lot better, even if it takes longer. |

I had mine done about 8 months ago. In India of all places the thrid most polluted city on the earth.
I have noticed slight reduction in my ability to see at night.
- I off set this with wearing yellow shaded lenses.
- My vision is quite better then prior to the surgery I had -5.5 in both eyes and small corneal thickness.
- There are a few diffrent surgeries depending on your assesment made by the examaniners and doctors.
- I overall would reccomend laser eye surgery for people if they meet the requirments.
- The social and possibly economic benefits associated with the surgery out weigh the negative implications that are possible in my mind.
Thats my 2 cents hopefully it helps you |
