Shredding companies can usually quote you rates using a Banker's Box as a unit of measurement.
Most do a document pick up. Differences are in whether they shred at pickup location, shred off site, or incinerate off site.

shredded and burnt is a failsafe compared to one or the other...
if you're using lots of gas and incinerating the documents to grey ash..then you dont need to worry.. but shredding them first will make them burn alot faster..
burn a stack of papers vs a pound of shredded paper. tell me which goes faster. |

We use Shred It at work they pick the stuff up and shred it on site.....
I bought a shredder fair size does a lot.....staples...credit cards...CDs etc.....I don't worry about the shreds...in the garbage bag and out to the curb
If someone is going to take the time to put my shreds back together...they deserve to see what it was I guess

Just get a damn shredder. I'm sure you don't have classified UN documents that could alter the world. Just shred the fucking things and be done with it.
Shredding, burning, collecting the ashes, places ashes in a safe, locking safe with a deadbolt, throwing the key into a gutter, burying the safe in a forest, etc is complete bullshit. None of us on this forum have documents that important. :rolleyes:

| I shred the stuff like the spam credit card app forms, most other stuff I need to keep, but anything I shred, ends up as filler on the bottom of my bird's cage... then ends up in a garbage bag, which I bring out to the dump and personally put in the compactor... now I don't do it for paranoia... just garbage collection out here sucks(once a week, don't like to take the size of garbage bags I use, etc, I do dump runs for my neighbour anyhow... so I toss my stuff in and she pays for it) |

In the case of these aforementioned sensitive documents, you should ask them how they are doing both before and after shredding to get a true sense of how they really feel.
Maybe you need to learn how to be a little sensitive yourself... |
