Just had one of these guys coming by trying to "give away" a free alarm system.
Anyone have any experience with them? |

My experience for home security is that if the system is free, that means it's worth just that. You'd be just as good off if you just picked up some alarm stickers and put them on your doors and windows.
BTW a regestered alarm system means you also have a ESP sticker that goes at your front door with a regestered #.

I worked for them one summer. It's a big mormon waste of time.
Their pitch is that you're getting a "free" system installed that's worth thousands (more like barely anything) but in return you have to sign a contract to pay for monthly monitoring, which is how they make their money. Sometimes they say shit like, "you've been selected in our pilot program for this special deal! Your house is the only one on this block to have this great deal!"
It's not a scam, but the deal they give you isn't as sweet as they make it seem. If you're really interested in home security, call up the guys like ADT and see what they offer...then compare that to APX.. |
