I'm trying to decide on a company to go with for travel insurance (medical). I'll be going to Asia for a few months this summer, so insurance is a must.

Any suggestions? Pros/Cons?

I'm mainly looking at those offered through a bank/broker (eg. TD Insurance) vs "non-profit" firms (ie. Alberta Blue Cross). So many choices!!

Check to see if your employer provides it as part of your benifit package.

At anyrate, it is well worth it in the event you need it. If you do not, then atleast you are covered. :D

I have sunlife through work, and I know they do travel insurance. I have never had to use it for travel yet but from the claims I have for other stuff they have been a pain to deal with. Im thinking to maybe stay away from them.

My mom and dad bought from Alberta Blue Cross and the price was reasonable (for their age and exsisting medical) My mom had to go into the hospital when she was on a trip and they where excellent to deal with. They covered everything and we didnt have to pay for or worry about anything. so of my experience thats who I would recoomend.

I do not know why you do not want to go with Blue Cross, but this is what I have used all the time. Just a phone call, answer a few questions, and you will get your info and a card in the mail.

^^ Same as above, what is wrong with ABC, its cheap, quick and I was able to get it for me and my wife in under 10 mintues for one week in mexico, no problem.

It's cheap too. I think I was around 40-60 bucks for 3 months.

RBC has best coverage and service.

I've been told that from multiple company reps, and even TD Travel Insurance agents.

It certainly was not that much, but may have been 80 or 90.
