So the starter is physically cranking the engine over but it won't start?
Spark, good
Fuel, good
Compression?
Timing?
Maybe the timing belt slipped, if it did it might have bent a couple valves. |

may be is there a easy way to check the timing and the valves
thankx ;) |

You would probably have to pull the timing belt covers to check to see if the timing marks line up when Cylinder #1 is at top dead center.
Easier way would be to do a compression test. If a cylinder or two is low, air check those cylinders when they are at top dead center with the throttle plate open but not cranking the engine. If the air escapes out the tailpipe (this isn't a one person job) it is exhaust valves leaking, if it is leaking back through the intake, it is the intake valves.
Either way, it isn't going to be cheap to repair if the valves are leaking for any reason.:( |

If you keep cranking you risk bending ALL THE VALVES.
Valves are usually the cheap part of replacing them, it's the labor that kills you. |

This sounds like a typical ignitor unit gone kaput. Head over to your nearest Part Source, pick one up, they cost about $85 bucks, life time warrenty on it. Or hunt one down from an auto recycling yard (pick and pull). Replace the one inside of your distributor and that should fix the trick. We recently did that on RallyCivic's car. Same symptoms as you described.
Are you throwing any codes on the ECU. Is your CEL on?
Also, hop on over to CEvo for anything to do with Civic's/CRX's. |
