I'm not sure if anyone else has played this game yet? But I thought I'd give it a little mini-review;
The game is fucking HUGE... Massive amounts of data to load, too much in fact, for the quality of game it is.
It's building on a very successful franchise, and the GAMEPLAY is alright... Controls are easy to use, weapons are fun, and it's easy to lose a couple hours at a time to this game.
My big gripe is lack of texture quality and the foliage looks like sprites from DOOM.
This is not the fault of the game developers, but a limitation of the poor UT3 engine they used.
I am rather impressed that when you climb a ladder or vines, your character actually grabs the fucking rungs and whatnot... Sure the ladders and vines all look exactly the same... But it's amazing that so few games up to this point have taken the time to make the character actually grab onto the material... heh
I have a few other small gripes with the game... You have no health indicator... which is kind of a pain in the ass... When you get injured, your vision becomes blurry and you start to see blood covering your eyes... the more blurry and more red you see - the more damaged you are.
Also, the ammo indicator, it doesn't take into account how many rounds are currently loaded in the clip in the gun...
If I think of anything else, I'll post it in this thread, but overall... I would give the new TUROK 6 out of 10 |

i just bought it last week. I would give it a 7/10. This game is one of the first, first person shooters i have enjoyed in a while simply because the knife. So far i have beat most of the game using only my knife lol. Every dino has had its throat or skull meet its maker by my blade :lol:

The only downsides, like Rob states, no ammo count for used bullets and they decided not to include gore for humans...i was pissed off. I was hoping to see some arm's, legs, heads fly off.
