That's a myth.....and one that I've never really heard. The accelerator will work just like the gas pedal in a car, although it functions more like a dimmer switch.

all it needs is to hover like in back to the future, and we have a shuttlecraft from startrek :P

.. electric motors develop peak torque right at 1rpm, so if things arent mounted properly im sure it'd jerk about.
