| Just to let everyone know at the meeting we had last wednesday we decided to rename the club back to edmonton prelude club. people from within other cities and provinces are still welcome to post and be part of the club, but there was not enough interest to keep it prairie wide. Almost all of the active members are from edmonton as as well. with the name change comes a dilemma though. the domain www.edmontonpreludeclub.com has been purchased by someone. probably a underhand company who buys expired domains in hopes to sell them back to the owners. So we have a few options. The domain expires on Feb 9th 2009. at that time we could try to get the domain name back and from now till then just sit at bay. we could also buy www.edmontonpreludeclub.ca as it is available. this poses a few problems. Our current stickers/ business cards/ etc all have that domain on them and if we card a lude they would have no idea on how to access our site. This is unless scott can take our current decals and business cards and print new ones with the proper new domain on them. we need new cards anyways since darcy's name is still on them. and the decals shouldn't be too bad to make new ones. anyways this is where we ended up some opinions on the domain would be appreciated. |

| preludepower.ca is all good new cards are needed anyways and a new decal wouldnt hurt we could have a few options to choose from just my 2 cents |

Having a .ca domain would make sense, as we are Canadian... and seeing as we are trying to gain more exposure, having a correct url on our stickers/cards is a must. So whether that be getting new media made or buying the .com domain back, we should do one or the other. I wouldn't want to wait around here for Feb 2009 to roll around, that's for sure.
See if whoever owns the .com will trade for prairieludes.com... just a thought.

In regards to the club cards Darcy's name needs to come off of them, but we also need to contact all those businesses on the back and make sure they still support the prelude club. I am positive quiet a few of the business relationships are done. We will need to make a few new ones. Like i suggested in the other thread lightspeed would be a good one since i know they will make a lot of business off our club.
I think that we should take a day and drive around the city and try to promote the club to some shops and get some exposure that way. Get them to have our cards there and try to get a discount for members. I suggest actually giving shops card holders (they cost very little) and a bunch of cards. It is good advertising.
As for the private domain, i don't know. honestly the traffic is better on 780 than going private. We are no where near large enough to make a private domain that is constantly active. Hell, sufi is huge now and their website is slow as hell. Maybe 1-2 posts per day on that site. |

EPC.com is actually a pretty good idea. My vote is in.
Keeping edmontonpreludeclub might be a good idea too, depending on the cost. |
