A friend picked up his new toy in Moose Jaw - Click HERE for Original Thread

This car doesn't really fit the import scene, but I think it is a cool car none the less.

If anyone recognises the car, it used to be owned by Shawn(sean) former head of the diablo's car club in calgary before he lost a screw and moved to saskatchewan.

It is a period correct 1929 Ford Roadster hotrod originally built in 1952 I believe, and the only part newer than that are the new bias ply wide whites, and the generator.

stats
29 Ford roadster body
Deuce Rails
Deuce Grill
36 ford headlights
39 ford tail lights
original ford hubcaps
43 ford flathead V8 with period correct edelbrock heads
I believe they are using mooneye guages in the dash
banjo wheel (not sure what out of)
1/8" plywood floor (It likes to crack when you step on it, so it might be replaced)
some random bench seat not bolted in, and covered in 2 mexican blankets.

Has a small leak, but runs fine, lots of rattles on the road, and if you hit a pothole/bump hard enough the trunk pops open.

BTW He has a couple 30 ford body's he is looking to get rid of now, one coupe, and one roadster if anyone is interested.

Invalid Zero
COOOOOOL!!!!

Though I would drop and channel it. Not a huge fan of high boys.

thats awesome lucked out there

Was it registered for those 5 years it had been sitting. If it wasn't, then it'll need an OOP.

Really hot car

it was registered in calgary, and not moosejaw...therefore it will not need OOP as they will not know it has ever left the province...

Probably lay down a 1/4"plywood floorboard, and make some type of shift boot so you dont get so much shit comming up at you from the road through the hole in the floor for the shifter. He might eventually do a licenceplate floor but who knows. One thing that he wants done is a period correct generator. Since everything else on the car is from its original early 50's build and it has just been moving from barn to barn, I believe he wants to leave it just for correctness.

What would one of these things be worth or sell for? :dunno:

depends on how well it was done, and the biggest thing, if someone else likes it. My friend knew the owner well through the car club, and heard that he was a little strapped for cash, so he drove down to his farm with a trailer and 20g's in his hand in a take it or leave it offer. He has already had offers for a fair bit more than he paid now that he has brought it back though.

He has 4 or 5 other projects on the go right now to, from 29-31 ford roadsters, coupes, and 3dr sedans, and to do it period correct with all original parts you can look upwards or 30 to finnish a project right. if you dont mind reproductions you can do it a fair bit cheaper.
