What is a good Pressure Washer to purchase? - Click HERE for Original Thread

GOT SE-R
Im looking at purchasing a pressure washer for the car. I don't need one that is so powerful it strips paint. Im not looking at spending a whole shit load of money either (like $800 for a gas one).

What do you use and or recommend?

if this has been covered. Sorry, im too lazy to search :D

You can get alot of different ones for like 500$(gas) that'll be pretty good. I got one a couple years ago from Homedepot for 400$ with a briggs on it and its awesome.

Whatever you do dont get a simoniz.
When I worked at canadian tire we would have at least 3 or 4 returned per day. We probably only sold 5 a day

I worked the same thing aha.

They are just made of shitty plastic. When you buy one, IF all the pieces come in the box (they are always missing pieces) its just going to break anyway. Either a fitting is fucked and you lose all your pressure and water leaks, or some other piece breaks.

Seriously i would say 8 out of 10 got returned. the other 2 were probably never used for the person to realize they were shit

For the most part pressure washers are a waste of money. You are much better washing with a mit, bucket and some good car wash goo.

If you really need to use a pressure washer on the car just take it to a car wash, and you would not want to get that mit covered in mung.

I would only recommend purchasing a pressure washer if you are looking at other uses for it, such as cleaning a driveway, siding, garage floor.

If it is a limited use item, look at purchasing from the bargain finder, or see if you can steal one from someone.

I have had Marcenators pressure washer stolen in my garage for over a year now.

You can just rent my cock if you want... I'm pushing about 3000 PSI through it. You know, so long as you don't mind washing your car with jizz/urine/blood.

Lol. Well thanks for the warnings. I dont really want to spend more than $300 for a pressure washer but if I have to spend more then maybe I will wait a bit.

I never had any complaints about the Briggs and Stratton pressure washers at Can Tire though :dunno:

Ok, how about a good hose attachment?

Err… for garden hose? You can find some good ones at CT, Rona, Home Depot, superstore.

Even at some clearance outlets, such as XS cargo, or Liquidation World you can sometimes score some deals on them.

Can't Stop Spin
I have my dad's old hand-me-down simoniz crappy tire washer. While it leaks like a sieve, it still does what I want it to do. Which is, get all the loose dirt/mud etc off the vehicle, then I wash it by hand, and use it again to rinse the soap off.

I guess I could rig up a small dia garden hose like 5/8" and add a Garden hose pressure attachment and it would cost me like $50-$60 rather than $300+

Blackout-spec
one thing i noticed with my electric pressure washer is if the water is not warm, it doesnt dry off as well on the car. sometimes the water in a car wash is so hot, it just evaporates off w/o having to dry it. i used to use my pressure washer to wash my car, but not i just use big buckets of hot water. way faster then rigging it up to all the hoses etc.

Buy another one. Use the receipt to return the broken one... Get your money back. It might sound kind of sleezy, but in the end I think it's fair... You paid for a product, it should work, just because you didn't have time to return it doesn't mean you should be out the money.

Hustler M
right now CT has 2.0 hp Briggs and Stratton gas pressure washers on sale for $199, until the 8th. Regular price is $250 which is still decent.

Like i said before I never had a problem with the briggs and stratton washers. But if I remember correctly, Canadian Tire DOES NOT warranty them. If you have a problem you go right through Briggs and Stratton. You cannot return/exhange it back to CT

2ndgenlude
if CT will do anything it will be 7 days over the counter like the simoniz. after that your on your own.

So unless I can fix my Simoniz myself, I might as well junk it? (it was bought a couple years ago)

2ndgenlude
you could send it to simoniz directly as long as the manufacturer warranty is still valid. CT would be able to tell you for sure. i haven't worked there in awhile so policys might have changed.

THUD
As long as the washer can suck water outta a bucket and not jsut amplify my garden hose pressure I would be be happy, does that lil Brigg's do that?
I could use a washer an awful lot at times around my place and other's, I guess XScargo might have some for slightly cheaper.

HEWSINATOR
I did not read the thread, but saw Simoniz when I was scrolling, and I have owned 2 that are crap. I had a Karcher wand crap out on me too, but I think they are ok still, I do not know what else I would get.

blood?? something wrong with you man

anschutz_93
I have a Karcher (I think... its yellow) its pretty good. The pressure doesn't compare to that of a gas one, but for what I use it for its great. For around the house its all you need; I use it inbetween washes on my car, dirt bike/quads when they get plastered in mud, patio furniture, mountain mike, siding, ect. It also has a soap gizmo, but I haven't ever used it. I think it was ~$300 5 years ago, but it still works great.
