| Title says it all, i have never experienced it and i am just suspecting it mild slippage, but i want to catch it early to have a reasonable argument with the dealership. |

If you are in gear, 3rd or 4th, mash the gas pedal.
If your clutch is slipping, the revs will go up then down as the clutch starts to bite.
If the clutch is good/decent, all it will do is bog the engine down.
Also, if your clutch is slipping, there will be a VERY unique smell coming from your car when you park. It is difficult to describe, like a burning odor, but smothered somehow. |

| Thanks, i think i am familiar with clutch burning smell. I dont have that yet.. and actually in 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th there is no slippage... I just feel off the line acceleration in low 1st gear revs (<3000 rpm) is kinda not as before. |

| 4/5th gear and point yourself up a hill. If you make it up congrats and if you do not and your revs keep climping as you start falling backwards then your clutch is slipping |

| Thanks guys for the replies, I dont think my clutch is slipping then.. cuz it pulls at any speed in any gear. |

lool the proper way to test clutch slip is as follows
healtoe....... your foot on the gas and brake pedal while in 1st 3rd and 5th.
press the gas a bit and if there is slippage it will slip due to the pressure if the car stalls or gets to hard to stay on the brakes the clutch is fine.
pedal position....... if its high that is also a sign of worn clutch. |

| If you are driving a Honda and you just lost a race, your clutch is slipping. There can be no other explanation. |

Pedal position doesn't work with a hydraulic clutch.
The first car I had with a hydraulic clutch, I thought that the clutch was pooched for the first 2 years that I drove it. I bought the new parts, then figured that I'd drive it 'till it started slipping. It never did. I sold the car with the new clutch kit, still in the box. The guy who bought it, pulled the clutch, and as far as I can tell, the guy who sold me the car (And said it have a new clutch in it) may not have been lying.
Watch the RPM when you let the clutch out. Even from a stop. The first signs are usually that the RPM is still coming down, even after you've taken your foot off of the pedal. This is generally more noticeable at heavy throttle in 3rd and 4th. |

When you floor it in 3rd does your rpm shoot to redline?
If you don't have much power, you can go months on a bad clutch. Just save up and get ready to drop the transmission... |

| That answers some questions about my clutch... It just feels different than any other car I've driven before. Maybe it's just the pedal position that's weirding me out. Or maybe it's because I drove Chromey's car the other night. |

| Ahhhh the smell of fried clutch at drift and racing events... If you think your clutch feels different (ie. pedal feel and friction point is inconsistant) than what you're used to in your car, and it's not slipping, then your hydraulic system's to blame. Air in the system (need to bleed through the slave), how'd the air get in there? Leaking clutch master, lines or slave? It's all fun stuff from there.;) |

Easiest way to detect any signs of clutch slippage is accelerate hard up a big hill in the proper gear, quickly switch to 5th or 6th and floor the gas. If the car lugs (minus driving a Viper or something with lots of torque) then your clutch is not slipping. If the revs pick up but your speed isn't changing, or is slowing down, then you have a problem.
Every time my clutch has worn out, I see it first on the uphill accelerations in fourth or fifth gear. |
