| Hey guys I was wondering if you could educate me on what I need to know about getting a timing belt change on my 03 Acura RSX Type S. Most importantly I would appreciate reccomendations where I should go, what I should expect to pay, and any useful pieces of information. My understanding is that you are supposed to get it at 100 thousand km. I am at 130 and a expert at procrastinating but its definitely time to get on this. Please give me any info you have to offer. |

Isnt it a timing chain?
IIRC you should only need to make sure its not stretched or worn and change the tensioner as that will extend the life of the chain.
You are correct about the 100km-120kms for timing belts though, but timing chains are designed to last the life of the engine with proper maint. |

Probably the tensioner needs replacing, which should stop the noise most of the time thats the cause as the chain is loose and makes odd noises, clinking, whirring etc.. |

| Go to Top Tech. There rates are below Dealership rates, the place is run by a guy who was a Honda Tech for 20 years. Good guy, great service. |
