How the hell to work a CompuStar - Part 2 - Click HERE for Original Thread

TrevorK
Alright, I'm back with more troubles. You guys helped me figure out the basics last time, and I was able to get the car moved to my RV parking.

Now I need to figure out how to set it to valet mode so that the shipping company doesn't have to deal with the alarm.

Anyone have an idea?

says push the 1st and 3rd button at the same time. then the remote should show valet.

but i think you would need to press I and III together once, or hold for 2 seconds and then release.

for the shipping co, i would just not arm it at all and lock the doors, your car should be insured for shipping if anything happens.

c-stars are only good if your there to lay a smack down, you wont be there......so why even utilize it.

its just push 1 and 3 at the same time, not hold. if you hold it will disable the shock sensor. thats what the line is for beside the bracket.

^ exactly right. It has been the same for every compustar 2 way I think.

Peel the damn plastic off the display already.

Jesus, that pisses me off.

Is there anyway to get your car back in ready mode if you disarm the car without starting it and re-arm it?

I think for valet mode your key has to be in the ignition, and in the on position. Then you press I + III on the remote and it should go into ZzzzZ (valet mode). I'll check the manual from home if you want. I did a few times when I sent my car in for servicing.

^^ You don't have to put the key in the ignition, just press I + III at the same time.

Alternately, get into the car, and turn the ignotion on and off 5 times. This puts the car in valet mode even if you don't have the remote.

Buttons 1 and 3 for 0.5s will take it back out of valet mode, which is needed before you can arm it. The Zzzz in the remote should come on, indicating that it's in valet mode.

Thanks guy - 1+3 did the trick and the tow truck driver was more than happy to learn that he doesn't have to play with the alarm.

So when it's in Valet mode you can't arm/disarm or lock/unlock with the compustar?

I never did look into what valet mode did.
