I am seriously considering buy a small truck this summer so I can get a quad and boat and stuff,
I was looking into the Toyota Tacoma (little high of a pricetag, but I heard they are good value and hold there re-sale) and I looked at the Canyon and Colorado too.
But the ford ranger comes to mind too...They dont have a good re-sale value at least compared to the toyota but how are they? They seem pretty cheap, I can get a fully loaded 4x4 for about 26,000 compared to toyota 36,000.
I am looking for definatly a V6 4x4 and just need extended , dont need a fullsize 4 door.
Any opinions? |

| I have owned 3 rangers in my life, mostly for winter cars and parts haulers, the newest I had was a 97, and I enjoyed it, plus it never gave me any trouble! really good bang for the buck, not as nice at a toyota that is for sure but a good thing mover! |

over the years i have heard nothing but good things from friends who drive them.
it may even make the short list for a winter ride next year, get one a few years old after the good old ford depreciation has set in. |

| I have an 07 and I picked it up in December 06 and I like the truck alot but Im probably gonna be moving on if your interested instead of trading it in I am looking for someone to assume my lease payments. Unfortunately its only 2wd but I have never been stuck in it (surprisingly). I have paid for a year and a half so there is a year and a half left with a relatively small buyout at the end. And it has a few little mods done if this interests you pm me for more details. If not I hope you find a good one they are good little trucks but try to avoid Team Ford. |

I am pretty sure the Canyon and Colorado can only pull something like 700 pounds. I know the number is super low for a pickup. |

| im int he same boat as you right now. The Colorado is quite expensive too. I was looking to buy one, but for the price i'll probably gonna get a tacoma or a Ridgeline. Compare the prices and you'll see that the difference is pretty slim. |

| ive had a few rangers, a 2001 and a 2003 i currently have and they are decent small trucks. interiors are cheap, not much room, but they can tow something like 5000 lbs with the 3.0 v6 2wd. 4wd probably more. and they are dirt cheap used. got our 2003 for 8k 2 years ago year. only 50k km's or something. |

| I have an 05 sport, so RWD V6, and it isnt bad, I have maybe put 500km on it, since I only use it to pick up parts basically, or drive in the snow when I have summer tires on the STI to early. It has been a decent truck, I picked it up used with higher milage for its age, but it has never given me a sinle problem. |

| I have a 93 Ranger with over 250,000km as my winter truck. She doesnt look too pretty. But she goes and I have never had a problem mechanically. |
