Hey Everyone
Just had a question for all the board members that regularly go to Bud Park: I'm interested in competing in various events at Bud park, but their website is not very helpful with explaining the rules.
Just what is the process for registering? Also, I have read in various magazines that certain track may require some safety devices - even for street legal drags! I have heard of requirements such as helmets (an obvious and smart one), radiator blowoff tanks just in case of catastophic failure, maximum fuel tank volume, etc. What is Bud Parks stance in regards?
I've been to a number of events as a spectator, but I'm a really green 'noob' when it comes to actually competing and I don't want to break any racing taboos!
Thanks!

| First you need to get a Type "R" sticker... the larger the better. |

Heh, yeah, right under the quarter window.
I thought I'd roll down the windows when I do compete too. It'll raise the horsepower from the stock specs. It's the cheap way to do Ram Air :D

You do need a helmet.
You need a radiator overflow tank, which your car should have from the factory.
You need a battery tie down, another factory equipped item.
Your nuetral safety switch needs to work, ie. car won't start when in gear. Factory again.
No OBVIOUS fluid leaks.
Driver needs to be wearing long pants, ie. no shorts.
Cakewalk. |

| what if my car can start in gear? will i fail the tech inspection? when i got my compustar alarm/startey the installer had to disable the clutch engangement in order for the starter to work.. |

no they hardly check anything, they basically look at your helmet, look under your hood, that's about all.
I don't have my battery tie so I use a rubber bungee cord and they're cool with that |

DOHC - 16V - 6 Cylinder
...............16V?
Each cylinder has 2.66 valves? I hope there's not another obvious meaning for 16V that I've missed. |

There is usually an easy way to hook it back up temporarily. |

Glad i am not the only one that noticed that. Hehehe. They are pretty relaxed there. I remember seeing them let a guy run with his battery duct taped down.
Oh and no sandals allowed. Thats the only other one requirement that i didnt see mentioned. |

Nothing more than a t-shirt required though. Forgot about that one as well. :D |

i think everything has been said... basically if it came right off the line, you could race it. You'd just need a helmet.

Yes, 24V is what the signature should read as. How could I have missed that? I typed it in myself,.....?
