Thanks guys! The engine is bone stock SC (well other than the non-performance upgrades like tensioners and pop-off valve). Nice thing is that this is Porsche's most bullet-proof motor and parts are cheap (well, as long you don't get them at the stealership) :)

sick ass car man  if it was black it would be the blackbird from WANGAN MIDNIGHT haha

Pulled this baby out of storage today... so those of you who've expressed interest in seeing it, let me know and we'll arrange it.

So nice to drive it again... damn

What's a pop-off valve?

Its like a safety valve. You set it for a pressure that you want it to open incase everything else fails. For example:

wastegate has a 15psi spring,
boost controller set to 20psi
pop off valve set to 24psi

wastegate fails to open, boost starts rising, hits 24psi and the pop off valve will open and dump all the pressure so you don't hurt anything. Does that make sense?

this is true for turbo cars... but in this case it's something different. 911's from these years have a plastic airbox which houses a lot of the fuel injection components. If for whatever reason the cars backfires, these boxes could possibly blow up.

A popoff valve in this application is an upgrade that is basically a spring loaded flap that looks like a mini toilet seat. If the pressure builds up in the airbox from a back fire it flops open releasing the air and preventing the box from cracking.

It's really just a preventative measure, since even though parts for these cars are usually pretty cheap, these airboxes aren't.

bump... just haven't been around to sell my car this summer. Throw me an offer this week and save me the hassle of having to put it back in storage.

A beautiful, head turning exotic car for very little $$!
