Time Attack 1 @ Stratotech Park - June 3rd, 2008 5PM-9PM - Click HERE for Original Thread

TO anyone whose names got screwed up, just let me know. I may have made an error transcribing.

To the fellow that is now down a few spots, apologies but after reviewing the results I made an error in the timing booth while hurrying to get results done so everyone could get their trophies and head home.

The next event will be running a very similar layout, the placement of the chicanes will be different, but other than that don't expect much to change.

Thanks again, hope everyone had fun. See you on the 24th.

my apologies if i am wrong, we know stock speed reading equipment is usually not dead on accurate at high speeds so it could be off by even 10kph at around 170-175. i trust conroys speeds too. so i could have been really doing 160kph-165kph when it was reading 170kph-175kph. that should be easy to believe considering that gtr's 1/4 mile trap speed is about 110mph, and i was using about 900feet of straight to accelerate.

conroy, i never said i was hitting 200 either, i said i was reading 170+ on the speedo 2/3rd down.

Great event guys. Everything went very smoothly! Thanks again.

I have my own thoughts in regards to the chicanes but I already mentioned those a few times. .... uhmmm but then again I will say it again...... That chicane by the flag stand was to close to the edge but at least by the end enough cars had hit the inside cone that it straightened it out enough... Make it straighter..... please :D

The course layout kept things close....... much closer than it would of been if the pylons would of been removed. So in that respect you guys did a great job in equalizing the field.

P.S In regards to speed the most I have hit has been ~170k on that straight.....
P.S.S Matt the year of my car is 86' if you can update that.

won't be able to make it on the 24th. Someone can take my spot.

Can anyone here tell me if a Snell95 helmet is good enough for tech? I haven't been on a track in a few years so my helmet is a few years old but still like new. I know it is still good for Castrol and other events I have been to at Stratotech. Will it pass or do I need to buy a new helmet just for this event?

I have tried sending a pm to matteg but can't seem to get a response. :dunno:

At this same event as Kris in his GT-R, I was hitting (on stock speedo) low 140s, on falken 452s. I was taking it easy as this was my first event ever at Stratotech, and I had over heated my stock pads by my second run.

I also spoke with the elise driver, and I don't doubt him when he said he was showing 170 on his speedo, because he was definitely going through and exiting turn one a lot faster than I was able to. He was stock except for a Lotus stage 2 exhaust (factory option). Stock tires, but I forget what kind that is.

The turbo 944 driver (Alex) said he was also in the 170s on the strait that day.

Take that for what it is, I'm just repeating what I saw and heard that day.

I have a hand held GPS which will be in my console at my next event. :D

.......

When did the time attack for JUly 15th get full ???

Makes no sense trying to run a time attack if the cars that are competing for best times can't make it?

:dunno:

Regardless....... Does anyone have a spot that they want to get rid off for the 15th???

P.S How about sending an announcement via email to the previous competitors? It only makes sense that the cars that were in the first time attack have a shot at being at the subsequent ones?

edmontonGTI
yeah :(...I missed the registration as well. If anyone would like to sell their spot I would be more than happy to purchase!
