This was in the dead of the winter, it sucked as the intersections in Fort MCMurray are generally ice.
I accelerated to go through the green light, it turned orange. I attempted to brake but slid. This is when I let off on the brake, and geared into second as I thought this would be the best method of slowing down.
It was red and I was still sliding.. I decided to travel through the intersection as this was the best option at the time.

My mom had a cop pull her over in the winter for going through an intersection. He was too far back to really see what my mom had done.. she tried to stop but just went through as well because she wouldn't have been able to stop.
... she was able to get the ticket reduced. |

I think the lawful reply is that you should be driving according to the conditions. If it's slippery enough to slide through an intersection on a changing light, you were driving too fast.

You're also going to cause more problems if you're doing that at times .. say going 20km/h so you can actually stop...

conditions aren't always consistant. i've hit slick spots right in front of intersections that made it so i had to slide through. it happens. the whole road isn't the same throughout the length... and we can't do 10kph everywhere. i would have at a few times had to be doing about 10 or less to have any hope of stopping.

without pictures or evidence you really dont have a case its your word vs the cop so hes gonna say u where not prepared or driving for the conditions unless u can prove otherwise.
