Need a sod hookup - Click HERE for Original Thread

BigTrucker
Does anybody have a good hook up on sod? My neighbor and I are going to be soding our yard in a few weeks and we need a little over 5000 sq. ft. of sod.

If you can give me a good price and deliver it, you will have our business.

I will ask my buddy, hes a landscaper.

Sod is relatively cheap and the price doesn't vary much around town I found the two times I sodded places. I would be more concerned about the quality of sod. I have seen some really shitty stuff go in around the neighborhood. The last two times I used Classic Landscaping on Gateway and Elerslie and I would totally recommend them. Good quality sod.

Could drive north of Edmonton on highway 2, just before the turn off to Vimy there is a Sod farm on the left.. you could try buying direct.. never tried it myself though :P

dont even need to go out that far. Take anthony henday to where it becomes Ray Gibbon drive or whatever they're calling it, then head off to Sandpiper Golf Course, theres another sod farm along the way.

Do you guys know how much sod 5000sq feet is? That isn't something you just go and pick up. Delivery is pretty much a must. And delivery is free pretty much everywhere with an order of over something like 2000sq feet.

i've landscaped and worked at a golf course 9 years, yes i know how much 5k sq ft is

Black dirt company is maybe somewhere to look but my suggestion would be to talk to a superintendant at a golf course and find where they get theirs

I wish I needed Sod right now.:(

The guys that came to get it "jdmguy" and "diablo88" from on here, picked up a full load and never came back. I let them store their Bobcat on my driveway overnight and they said they'd grab the rest the next day. They came back and picked up their Bobcat, but never picked up the rest of the dirt.

I called and sent sent a text with no reply from either, then I got a PM on here saying that they're too busy now, and I should get someone else to get the rest.

I guess they got a nice full load and don't need the small amount they left behind. Sucks for me though, because it's pretty tough to get someone to come out for such a small amount now, and it's too much to just spread out over the yard that's already done.

^ sounds like a couple of winners right there.

If they are in the landscape business I would recommend that no one on here ever use them. That is pretty bad. :thumbdown
