well my car decided to give out on me again :(

heres the story, i dident drive her all of the long weekend but when i left it everything was running really nice. but when i started her up on the monday, there was this cluncking noise when the clutch is out. when its pressed down its fine, but when i let go of it theres this clunking sound from i think the tranny. i replaced the fluid in the tranny and its still like this. it will go into gear but it wont drive. all i get is little stutter forward.

looks like shes not gunna b on the road for a while :( ne ideas guys as to whats wrong?

midnite
Try bleeding the clutch line?

godofice
sounds to me like your clutch is slipping, bleed your line like he said. Is your peddle getting stuck at all? take the starter off flash a light in there and see if there is anythign wrong that you can see with the flywheel, or any abnormal dust. If there is dust obiously dont breath in the dust :) . If you still cant find anythign wrong, you will prob need to take off your tranny. worst comes to worst a new clutch :P

godofice
oh alnd always remember to replace the release bearing when changing the clutch lol, a lot of people skip that... not a good idea...

godofice
hey also does one of your parts cars have 1 a running light/ headlight switch or the whole consol? and also a RR 1/4 pannle in good shape? lol your inbox is full

if i take off the starter, do i have to drain ne fluids first?

where is this release bearing?

and im pretty sure i have one of those doo hickys u can come see if i have one if u come help me w/ my car :D

and thanx for input ill give it a try

godofice
you dont need to drain any fluids if you take off your starter, and you wont be able to see the release bearing unless you take off your tranny

you busy tomorrow? my car is gunna be sitting all night tonight cuz im fixing my exhaust leak, since ghaskets arnt working im going to try to use some high temp silicone... so its gotta sit for atleast 12 hours preferrably 24 but meh

Ammo
so i tried bleeding my clutch..... dident work :(

i guess i might have to take my tranny out unless ne ones got ne other ideas

godofice im free all week after 4pm if u dont mind coming over to gimme a hand figuring this out and ne one else i would b eternally greatful. i reeeeeally wanna get her back on the road :tear:

what i dont get is how could it have been running fine and then i leave it for a weekend and then this happens.........uhgggggggggg!

godofice
you seem to have never ending problems hahaha :P i dont work tomorrow so i dont see a problem popin by at around 5ish

ehos
Bleeding the clutch isn't going to fix your throw out/needle/release bearing.

Pull tranny, replace, and change the clutch when it's out.

so im driving her now and i notice that my oil pressure is like off the meter...... is this bad? how can i fix this? wasent like this before so thought id ask just to be on the safe side.

godofice
clean that wire terminal to your oil pressure line, and swithc it around, and make sure you didnt overfill oil if not then you might have a bir problem, make sure that the terminal is not backwards.

Ammo
maybe my oils too thin?:dunno: what rating oil is everyone using? ive got 10w30 in her right now

godofice
im running 10w30 right now and my pressure is fine so its not your oil.
