so my girlfriend had her license suspended 2 years ago for to many speeding tickets..... after getting her license back she got the car registered and insured.
Since then she hasn't been speeding or anything...now last night she gets pulled over coming on 99street (no speeding,cops were just running plates) and apparently her license was still suspended because the registry or insurance company didn't tell her she had to take a class or something.... so now her car is at the impound and she has to go to court next month....
my question is how did she get the car registered and insured with her new license that she got after her suspension was over, like 2 years ago and how come she did not get any letters or any notification that her license was still "suspended"?
(keep in mind that the officers did say that the car was perfectly insured and registered) |

Even if your licence is suspended, you can still register a motor vehicle... Insurance would only know if you are suspended if they pull a drivers abstract...
but one would think the registries would have let her know her licence was still suspended. |

She should have "surrendered" her licence when she was suspended |

yes,she did surrender it and she did get a new license before she registered it. thats why we are all lots,like how did she still get it registered... |

a new one was issued after the suspension was "over".....but thats what i don't understand either... if it was "still suspended" how did she get a new license.
