i need to tow my car to get it fixed, anyone have a recommendations on which company to call?

what's the average tow rate?

Unfortunately i don't have the man power to push it to the garage, since it's like 3 blocks away.

Stupid F-ing Alternator...

thanks in advance

just push it 1 block at a time or get someone with an AMA membership to get it towed.

also, why dont you just change the alternator yourself? its usually a simple task

i don't have the tools, if i did i would do it myself.

if its for the 88 prelude, i think all you need is just a 12mm wrench to loosen the tension bolt, and 14mm to get it off. if you can get those 2, your set

if you have the time, i think you should seriously pushing it the 3 blocks. it should take no more then 30 minutes or so, and compared to the price of a tow, its not worth it for 3 blocks. the average flat rate flatbed tow is roughly $75, the typical tow truck company like cliffs or AMA would charge roughly $70 or so for such a tow. the main cost is the hook up charge, and to move it 3 blocks will cost like $3 or so.
