defi gauges - whats with the beeping?? - Click HERE for Original Thread

shortie
ok, so the defi gauges are beeping when at an idle, but only sometimes... and for different lengths of beeping as well. it is getting very annoying and cannot figure out what the hell it wants or how to stop it :dunno:
It seems like it starts beeping the shit out when you slow down to turn a corner or at a light or to a complete stop... and not always all the time. sometimes its a long frickin drawn out beep and sometimes short, sometimes it will stop mid beep... if you rev and get the RPMs up it will stop its beeping for that moment ...
Oh, and yes I DO have a manual for them, however it is in japanese... and I am pretty rusty

thoughts and/or solutions??

what kind of gauges are you running? are you using the defi-link?

shortie
yah Im pretty sure its the defi link (it says that on the little thingy majigger)

I dont mind the warning, just not on an idle and stop... makes no sense to me... and is dammmn annoying in traffic.. and well any time you slow down

sikid111
what type of gauges??? eg.water temp., boost???

4thGenLude
and what type as well?
BF or racer?

shortie
theres 5 all together... water temp, oil temp, oil presure, turbo, ext temp... three of them flash a red light consistantly (water, oil, and oil presure) and dont illuminate from behind at all, however the ext temp and turbo illuminate fine and dandy...

as for type -- It's BF (at least thats what the manual says ... lol the only english writing on it)

Driven
Check the connections. JDM cars are pretty notorious for bad wiring.

Your warning's arnt set. They will light up and beep. You need to configure them.

Download an english manual and read it ;)

shortie
good plan, I will go hunting for one online tonight... hopefully it solves the mystery...
the 2 on one side do light up and beep (I am assuming those are the ones beeping).. just want them to stop beeping at such a retarded time... I dont see how it is useful to have beeping when slowing down and coming to a stop...

I'll post back later if I can't figure it out from a manual

fix the defi's?:dunno:

shortie
havent had time to get at'r yet... this weekend I will try... hopefully it is easy - but like that would ever be the case with me and my luck
