what protine powder to take? - Click HERE for Original Thread

gjgud
i have been working out with wgg white only and, have dicided to take protine powder can anyone here recommand me one that is good? and where can i buy one? do you know any side effect?

AudiInProgress
When I started taking protein powder, I noticed myself having gas more frequently, lots of burping and farting... And my bowel movements were rather loose... I didn't like it one bit.

There are no side effects, other then some extra gas. It is not a drug. Go to some place that sells supplements. They will generally know what they're talking about.

You could hit up a Popeye's. Theres one or two in every part of the city, so you shouldnt have to go far. They can help you choose something.

Every mall will have a health supplements store of some kind. GNC is one that has stores in the mall.

** The brand and choice of protein is dependent upon your goals. What are you trying to do?

- Some have low carbs and are meant a little more for dieters.
- Some have have good amounts of carbs/sugars and are meant as mass gainers.

etc, etc...

so for a guy looking to cut the fat but also tone up what would you guys recommend?

i'm not looking at gaining really.

shortie
low carb...

the shitty thing about protein powder is that they taste like ass. and trying to find one you can choke down sucks...
stick with chocolate, I say, as it is a good 'masking' flavour of the nastiness of the protein powder... I also used to mix mine with cold coffee and ice and make a 'frappachino'...
some give you more gas than others... I found the pure isolates are the worst for gas

the Mochachino flavor tastes exactly like coffee, none of the distinct protein taste

I had the dymatize mega milk and that stuff was awesome.. no gas no bad taste.. just solid protein. I'd recommend some dymatize elite whey or maybe the EAS 100% whey. Both were good and can be had at great prices.

ImporTuner
Don't be cheap on saving the extra dollar on buying whey than isolated protein.

Protein is meant for gaining muscle. If you are taking protein and want to tone down, that depends on your workout.

Recommend:
ISO XP
ISOFLEX (Both have low carbs.)

There's more to add to the list...

Driven
I tried that isoflex stuff.. tastes horrendous.

CKXtreme
I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone mention Syntrax Nectar. It actually tastes decent.

I have the Fuzzy Naval Peach after every workout ;)

Other than that, I'll have Optimum, which is the best non-isolate I've had.

Flex
I used to use protein powder but for ease and taste I just mix a boost half and half with milk. It has more calories then protein powder but if you working out it wont matter. It mixes easy with just shaking it and it tastes decent when the milk is added.

LAFNGAS
i take cytogainer chocolate malt and it mixes super easy in my shaker and tastes like cold hot chocolate:D

Iso gold all natural with water tastes pretty good in my opinion..

EDISKRAD EHT
ISO XP tastes great and mixes very well. It's a good low carb isolate.

Isobolic by Nutribolics is also a very good tasting, low carb isolate.

Talon_66
Screw popeyes.
