780tuners Meet Segregation - Click HERE for Original Thread

STiPWR
What is it with people creating their own meets right next to the 780tuner meets? Yes specifically you, Lancer crew.

Too cool for us?

If you want to come to our meets, you are more than welcome. Come in, introduce yourself, and we can all get along.

Dont show up, and be all mad cause nobody likes your car, or doesn't talk to you...and then create your "own little meet" across the street. Pretty childish IMO.

If you dont want to be part of the 780 meet, go gather somewhere else. Not in the parking lot across from us. I couldn't believe it when I seen you guys across the parkade at WEM. ( When you are doing burnouts and ripping your fart cannons in the parkade, believe it or not, it reflects on us and the positive image we have established with mall security and the EPS)

Your methods are growing on other car groups, now we have a corvette/muscle car parking lot, Lancer lot, and the usual 780tuners meet. Its retarded, there is plenty of room in the UC parking lot for everyone. There is even enough space to park all your lancers beside eachother.

If you dont want in, thats fine.... GTFO

MS3
agreed, a car is a car, everyone likes different things, but there is no need to meet right across the parkade from us, join us, ill be in the red mazdaspeed 3 every night, come say hi

Soulfly
I'll agree... I hate Lancers... But you guys should still all park in the same lot... Just because I don't like your car, doesn't mean the people that drive them can't get along.. :p

The Stig
:drama:

There probably wouldn't be a thread like this if;

There wasn't excessive noise
There wasn't continous burnouts
There wasn't stupid alarms going off

BUT there is, and so there is this thread.

How about not driving too fast in parking lots, no annoying people with extremely loud exhausts (once, is fine, but every 5 seconds, everyone, gets annoying no matter what car) causing trouble.

EPS and WEMSEC will come and kick you out, and everyone else will suffer. So either get along, or get away, whoever you are.

Godzilla
OH WHY CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG!!! WHY!!!ONE111!!!!!

but seriously, 95% of us don't judge you based on your car. It's all in how you stand by your car.

if you feel the need to have a douche meet stunting in parking lots that the police constantly visit and talk to us, do it somewhere else. we get generalized enough by the police based on the vehicles we drive. we don't need idiots solidifying that stereotype with the police. Everytime i have talked to the EPS when the roll through they have been kind enough to let us enjoy ourselves and hang out like we want to. It is a privilage that they let us park in UC and WEM every weekend. Don't get that privilage taken away from us.

When i started showing up to these meets three years ago i drove a riced out 88 Tercel, people were still cool to talk to and I got along with people fine. So don't think that because you're part of mitsunation or whatever that you're not welcome to hang out with the rest of us.
The only time you wouldn't be welcome to hang out with us is if you're driving like a douche monkey, or causing shit all the time.

THUD
I rolled in and all the other cars (lancers/tibbys/civics) went and parked along that wall and kept to them selves, i don't get it I guess I should have walked up to them and said comeon over.
I think it's fine there was a bunch of cars over at timmys for a while and they came on by or rolled thru but the seprate lil groups is kinda weird this year, it's like boston pizza downtown V8 guy vs us.
If your in one of them groups come say hello cause if you don't were gonna look at you and say things that are bad about you till you do.

hacman
I will try and talk to the guys over there again and see more so then anything what the problem even is. I agree Aaron this is a problem, and there is no reason for it. Part of the reason I dont even show up to UC is because of this. I like them I like some of you they like to park on their own blah blah, so dont even bother with it lol. I will say something though, because it's all childish and we are there to enjoy our cars so lets do it.

peace

Kana
what does it matter if they decide to go on their own?
maybe they have more fun:dunno:

hacman
Cause he is right, it is just downright childish to have a mini meet right next to an actual preplanned meet. Hey I am part of mitsunation and I can see this. I dont drive a lancer but some of the guys are nice regardless and if approached would nbe more then glad to talk about your ride if not theirs

peace

Driven
This shit is still going on? Childish to say the least.

Geofux
I'll be honest, a couple weeks ago when Wolf Pack was at UC I stayed with them all of the time. There had just been conversation I was more interested in at the time, nothing against 780tuners. 780 is the group that got me into going to car meets/cruises and I enjoy myself whether I'm with 780, WPCC, AMOA, or ECSCC.

The split between the groups is pretty gay. At least sometimes I'll just go and take a look at the cars with mitsunation..

RotaryJunkie13B
the moral of aarons story is

you either park at united cycle or you go to a different part of the city.

It reflexs upon us.

It's sad that a bunch of car enthusiasts have broken off into cliques.

"If you want to come to OUR meets, you are more than welcome"

That's part of the problem. There's a group of constants who think it's THEIR meet. If you want them to join the two meets then be more open to new members.. (unless they do stupid shit.. then let your opinions known and if they keep doing shit then exclude them. lol)

Talon_66
Everytime I show up to UC, I park off to the side because usually there isnt many parking spots available in the main part.

I usually walk through check out the cars. But hey when you don't know anyone and say nice car to so many people and get jack all for a response. Its easier to go find the people you know and talk with them.

Yes, I drive a "lancer" an EVO. And not a stock one, far from as far as power goes.

I hate civics, but I still compliment the work done to them.

That is the problem. People will just wander around expecting people to approach them, or just say something quick like "looks good". If you want to get to know people, shake a few hands and introduce yourself ask them what they have for mods, start up a conversation. as i mentioned, when i first showed up i was driving an 88 tercel but i walked up to some people i've never seen before, introduced myself and discusse thier cars and other random bs with them.

People need to get past the idea that we judge based on cars. you could show up every week driving a McLaren F1 and still be the biggest outcast at the meets if you hide in a corner and don't talk with anyone. Don't expect us to aproach you though.

me being fairly new to the scene ive noticed groups like the ones discussed above as well as:

newbies
oddtimers
veterans

when i roll in there seeing the red nsx, white sti, white on white gtr, charger, aristo, fd, chromeys corolla drivers in one group. seeing as these guys have been friends for awhile, its hard goin up to a group of friends and introducing yourself when you have a car/mechanical knowledge that isnt near the caliber of those guys mentioned above.

I drive a talon and have little mechanical knowledge(although im learnin) personally I feel more comfortable with cars/people near the same level as me. Totally not saying it should be 780 VS lancernation VS v8club...we can all be friends but like rotaryjunkie said there will always be groups within a group. anyways thats my 2 cents hate it or love it.

Im saying I have approached people.

Driven
Since when do you need to have mechanical knowledge to say what's up to a few people? Maybe introduce yourself. Most ppl would judge by how your present yourself.. your taste in cars and mods you've done on your car over mechanical knowledge.

Godzilla

and i was sugesting a different aproach. as i said, going up to someone and saying "nice car" will probably get you a response like "thanks" and that will be the end of it. if you walk up to someone and say "Hey man, i'm [insert name here], this your car?" "looks pretty sweet, what all do you have done to it/plans" yeah that's mine over in the corner, it's coming along".....

quick openers lead to quick closers. if you want to meet with people you need to actually have a conversation with them. if i just walked around when i had my tercel saying "nice car" I would probably be known as that guy with the GTR that used to drive a tercel. all i know you as right now is the guy with the white evoX, maybe on friday i'll actually get to meet you, i've never really checked out an evo up close before.

True, I have tried various approaches.
But all and all it depends on the person you approach.
I know who you, Auzzie and Aaron are, because of your cars.
I actually checked out your car the other weekend at WEM, I like the stereo.

But yeah, feel free to come check out my car.
I have it debadged, Dual exhaust (as opposed to Curtis, who has Single outlet), and Evolutionm.net decals

Geofux
Talon_66 - I'd be glad to meet you. Greg (silver riced eclipse) usually says a lot of good things about your car and Curtis' car.

first off i never said you need mechanical knowledge to say whats up to people i did say you need it to keep up with the conversation especially if you just walk up to people you dont know and dont wana single yourself out as a dumbass.

i look alot younger then i actually am, most people probly look at me and see a 18 yr old idiot driver and wont give me the time of day or when i say sweet ride they just say yup

Why ?? :dunno:

I myself don't know if I'll ever go to one of your meets...but am just gonna say something in "general"

You have oldies and newbies...and it might be most hard from the new people to do the approaching and the talking...already they feel on the outside not knowing anyone...being ya'll know most everyone...might be nice from your side also to make an effort to go out to someone who looks "new" and shake their hand and welcome them...

AuZZZie
I agree with the original point of this thread. You guys are on your own with the "nobody loves me" chick shit..

I'm all for one big meet. I'm personally gettin a bit bored at UC so the more new cars the better. Gives me something to look at other than the same old stuff.

it obviously doesnt matter what car you drive, i pulled up most last summer and this year so far (til saturday) in my 1999 ford winstar and still talked with most everyone, i am still a noob to the meets ( i feel anyways) and i have gone all last summer, and so far all this year. even some winter meets, hopefully i get to meet the other white evo, i know curtis already, ill come on over and check them out for sure friday :)

I can't say I've come to a meet for the cars in a while now. It's a good group of friends that I enjoy hanging out with.

I mean, I like cars, and if there's something new I'll check it out, but I've met a lot of cool people there too.

qft. that is one of the main reasons i'm out too. it's like a preset outing with my friends everyweek.

so to answer Blondys question, it's basically like hanging out at the same bar with a group of friends everyweekend. although there are other regulars there you enjoy spending time with your close group of friends. It's not like we are shunning out others.

to quote trooper "we're here for a good time, not a long time, so have a good time". I can't remember any times i havn't enjoyed with my friends at the meets so i make sure i have a good time.

ChromeDragon
On the rare occasion that I've actually been able to make it to UC this year (I've been working a lot of evenings on the sports desk) I make an effort to walk around the meet and check out lots of cars/talk to lots of people. I'm not sure what exactly all this shit going on this year is as I haven't been around much, but it really does need to change.

Maybe the next time you go out to the meet make a point of introducing yourself to at least two people that you haven't spoken with before.:dunno:

If anyone is interested I'll be stopping by at the muscle-car/hot rod meet on 137ave and 120st next Friday around 7 p.m. before UC. Lots of really nice cars to check out and then it's a decent cruise down Groat Rd. and up Whyte Ave. to the UC meet at 9 p.m. Experiencing a little bit more of the car culture out there is great for everyone.

There are also the Thursday night meets at the Petro Canada on Fort Rd. and 137ave and I believe the Mainstreet Cruisers meet at Millwoods Town Centre on Wednesday nights.

Our meets, as in 780tuners.

They have, and always will be open to new members.

 to elaborate on your point. i think the segregation is coming from the other end. i see the guys with the nicer cars being more open to everyone. and the guys with the lower end cars being intimidated by others. To me they are excluding themselves from the group. as i said, i first showed up in an pos tercel and i was treated just as kindly as the next guy driving a brand new lexus.

midnite
I've been going to the UC meets since we started them in '03, so I know what's going on.

I like to spend the first half of my night talking and catching up with the regulars, and spend the next half of the night meeting new people. I make an effort to go find those people who I can tell want to get in, but find it a bit overwhelming, and they don't exactly know where to start..

Of course it's overwhelming. Show up to a meet and you are suddenly facing a large group of people with a lot of money, sweat, and passion in their cars. There is obviously very strong ties and respect in the core group, and there is more testosterone and loud voices flying around than most people have ever encountered.

I'm not the only regular who tries to liaison with new people, I *always* see Matt (chromedragon) and a few others doing the same, but really for the most part, it is a pretty tight circle most of the night.. :dunno:

And to anyone new, yes, you'll probably feel like we're screening you. We are. Don't take it personally. We have encountered a lot of douches and showoffs with no respect what so ever, and been crossed by people we thought we could trust. Like I said, there is a lot of money, sweat, and passion in this scene, so naturally it's something that is bound to be strongly protected.

By the time we meet up after WEM, after a lot of the newbs and showoffs have been weeded out, I will try to meet up with everyone still with us. I do this because this is usually when the fun starts, and I need to know who I am cruising with, so I will make an effort get to know you and establish trust with you.

What it comes down to is if you show a strong enough interest, show the respect, the dedication to learn, and come with an open mind so you can understand where we are also coming from.. I can't see why anyone would have a problem. You may have to tag along for a few meets before someone approaches you, or before you can work yourself into conversations, but like anything, if you want it, it will happen.

Like everyone says, it doesn't matter what you drive, because on the other hand.. you can show up in an Enzo, but if you start trying to drift it, and spit rocks all over the cars, and you make someone spill their coffee.. ya, you'll hear people yelling at you to drift it into the light pole.
:thumbdown

95EagleAWD
Well said, Chris.

And swing by sometime. Haven't seen you in a while.

Oh, I will soon. I have a lot of missed cruising time this year to catch up on.. and I miss awing the children, and scaring the elderly with you all. :D

I went there after Castrol Friday night...we pulled into the lot...it was very packed and just people looking loool I really didn't know what to do...park...get out...run...

We left looool it was a little overwhelming...maybe there will be a next time but good job that you make the effort to welcome others

To add to this about screening

There have been KNOWEN Car Theifs comming to the meets, to scope hondas, and 2 of my good friends EG civics were stolen, and had only been showed off at uc meets, but that is just how we know they were stolen and who stole them.

So thats another reason why some people just don't talk much after getting commented , or don't show off their cars the first time they see/talk to you. maybe after a couple meets of seeing you out there, people will be more talkative

Heh.. if you think the eldery had it bad last year.. this year will be the worst year yet for them.. lol.

Geofux
I know my first night Chris was an awesome guy to have out. He helped me know where to go, and feel welcome.

Whenever I walk over to a group with Greg (Godzilla) he always looks over and asks me how it's going, what's up, or something along those lines.

They are not the only guys that are friendly.

midnite
Come a few times, you'll get used to it.

Yes, everyone looks when someone pulls in, but that happens to every single person, especially a car we haven't seen yet. So don't get shy, and don't think you're that special. lol. This is what goes through most minds when a new car comes in. Well, at least my mind.

'hey, a new car.. have I seen it before? nope. maybe someone I know is driving it.. and if it is, is it someone that i trust, or is it someone i need to raise a warning about? nope.'

At the same time I'm subconsciously compiling an inventory of what it is.. check out the rims, the ride height, the lip kit, look for an intercooler, and so on. Also I'm listening for the sound of a blow off, cams, a stiff 2-way LSD. <-
This is why looks might be a little longer than what you are used to.

We're like kids in a candy store, we have to check out what every piece is.. because it's what we love.

If I'm not there, I think I heard Greg say you can lean against his Skyline. When he comes to yell at you and chase you away.. tell him you're blondy, lol.

However (and this is important), if anything metal on a belt or a bag touches the paint, we will immediately know you're a scene whore and not in it for the cars, because a car enthusiast would have not let that happen!!

i'll give the OP a little props seemed like a nice enuf guy when you introduced ur self awhile back when we were all meeting inside timmies

but its pretty offensive to be lumped into a category just cuz of what i drive...i drive a lancer...

honestly i'm not sure why the meet split(might have something to do with random beefs and not having to go far to get food if your parked at tims) i just go hang out with the people i know and they happen to wanna meet in slightly different locals... be it they may only be a couple hundred meters away

as for the squaking tires at WEM thats the not just a lancer making all that noise... might be one but then theres skylines sylvias and lots of other cars...

since i know all the guys driving lancers that go out with us.. 2 have midly loud exhaust (but i find anything more than a rumble loud) there are way more cars out there louder exhausts then a couple lancers...

so if your gunna discriminate.. discriminate equally

some people don't learn and i see the point it attracts bad attention and its frowned apon to cause a scene and we have it out with our guys and 9 times out of 10 its actually friends of friends that make the noise...

and lets face it no ones innocent all the damn time...

i don't walk around saying fuckin sti's, skyline, rx-7's srt's etc etc squaking tires reving engines.. even though it happens

had a blast last summer when UC was packed with cars and the cruises were massive... wtf happened this year anyway... lot of fuckin hate going on

in closing you can rant about something to someone so many times but doesn't mean they'll listen

but that quoted above is what make gets people pissed off,

i'm personally one that doesn't care where and who i hang out with i just hang where i can talk to people i know... never was huge fan of just throwing myself into a large group of strangers who know each other pretty well and just winging it lol

before i rolled into UC from timmies briefly saturday...i actually asked whats the deal sticking with timmies and i got the reply the food and coffee is here

as for the WEM segregation i have no idea the deal with that one

mine too. :( Needs paint quite badly.

I stop by, and other then MS3 and 2 other guys, I met at a BBQ, and Will, I don't really know anyone. So when those guys leaves, I'm not going to go walk around for an hour "trying" to meet people. I'm to shy for that. I am down though for coming to the meets, even if its just for 30-45 minutes.

See it's people like yourself that make things like this happen. You act like an asshole (even if it is only on the forums), people read that and will go "Why on earth would I want to meet a douche like that?" You come into a simple discussion where no one is really insulting anyone and you start throwing out insults. Does it make you feel tough? Does your penis get larger each time you do it? Seriously man, take your own advise and grow up.

WTF? This shit again? Really? I figured people would've grown up by now....

It's simple, approach the jackasses spinning tires and revving exhausts at meet spots and tell them to grow up or fucking leave.

I agree, a large meet is cool, but given the past problems between certain people (not groups) I'm really not surprised this split has happened.

Don't get me wrong there are quite a few nice guys at these meets... as for alot of those kids who think they have to prove themselves to the veterans, man just be yourself... Honestly everytime i go to a meet, i almost feel like im in high school again, there's the popular crowd, and the outcasts... and people's rudeness scare people off... hence the reason why i don't really come out that often anymore... but thats just how i feel... yeah i've had good times and enjoyed many conversations with a few of you guys, cheers , but you all take care and i'll see you around...

I don't think it's about proving themselves to veterans, but rather just trying to show they have something to "prove" in general... I don't get it :dunno: ... that's what the race tracks for... but thats getting off topic...

... however I don't see why there's an issue about people wanting to be closer to the Tim's, I does make sense. Rather than having to drive over to use a bathroom or get a coffee or food you can just walk inside... I don't get the WEM thing though...

Tim Hortens is good for Winter. UC is big enough for summer. West Ed is a nice distance for a sprint from UC to another "cool" spot. From West Ed is where the meet gets interesting.

If you want to have your own meet, have your own day or place. If you want to hang with people who enjoy cars in all respects, than hang out with the largest group where ever they are.

As the stupid aussie said, the cars are the same all the time and as ryan and greg said, it's great to just hang out with buddies.

Personally, I go to DRIVE with buddies, people who I know can drive well, won't spit rocks, won't knock me off the road!

Eugh, cyberspace = teh gay.

SirLancealot
Well well.

On behalf of me and my friends who were located across form the normal spot at west ed, as far as we were concerned, some people got us kicked out of there the weekend before, i wasnt there when it happened but i heard it. So as far as im concerned, i didnt have a clue as to if this was "beef" related.

Like with us, we shouldnt get a bad rep just cause some new people might show up and not know that its not alright to go squaking around.

Same with the 780's, just cause there might be a dickhead or 2 around, doesnt mean everyones like that. Nor have i ever seen the need to judge EVERYONE cause of it.

Hell last year when i had my piece of crap tercel, Leo with his DSM (now wrx) would cruise around with me no problem.

Like i said, a few bad apples dont mean the whole tree is dying.

Il be back over to the other side this weekend now that i know whats really going on.

And just on a side note, for the people who are new and a little nervous to go meet everyone, it would probably be better if the regulars went and introduced themselves, im pretty sure that would completely eliminate their "worry". Just my opinion.

Props to those being mature about this situation

RotaryJunkie13B
i have zero problems talking to any one thats approched me.

The Stig
I've only been "hanging around" for just over a year now. It seems like a lot longer than that.

I got my car, I drove up, and said, "Wow nice car there, whos is it? Who are you? I'm James... yeah that's my car, nice to meet you too. Food somewhere? Sure mind if I come along?" and it went from there.

Now I'm not really "alloweD" to be with anyone during food, cause I bug all the waitresses.

I just have to say my 2 cents. Well i drive a lancer and I'm the first to admit i drive a little on the fast side but never at a meet. I can't speak for every one but i do know i'm a little intimidated by some of the 780 guys as i've tried to talk to some of them and most of the time i don't get the time of day. It just seems at times that if you don't have a turbo then don't bother talking. I know alot about the cars most of us are driving, i've loved tuners for along time and drove my dad nuts with it as he's a muscle head. It's just hard or difficult to talk to guys when they want nothing to do with you after seeing you roll up in a lancer. Yes i'm aware that some of the mitsunation guys drive like assholes and it those people have been talked too many of times but you can't control every ones actions just your own. I'm the type of person that when we say were going on a cruise i take it as a cruise not ripping it down the white mud at 100+ km/h. You guys don't want a bad rep and hey nor do we. If there have been any issues with me in my car please bring them to my attention I'm the Graphite Grey Lancer Ralliart with the Autobot theme'd car. Angle eye head lights and black tails, chrome 5 spoke wheels, so if i have caused any problems let me know. it's better to address people one on one then to address a whole group together and assume all are like that.

Thanks, Lee

robyn402
hey was there ever something said about being "banned" from the usual area in the parkade?

for some reason that went around...

might have been a reasons for the slight relocation... but funny enuf those of us that were over in that side of the parking lot have no real idea why everyone went over there...

guess we'll be moving back to the normal area since no one can figure why the hell we went there in the first place lol

on a completely different note any one down for a BBQ at whorelack this weekend or something?

Where can i find out about these other meets being said about.
Because reading over these posts it just seems there are a bunch of pompous assholes that call themselves "veterans" or something

I only went to two meets but it all seems to makes sense now. I think i would rather be wit ha bunch of people who are outcasts and keep to them selves then the popular group that treats others poorly...

the way this thread is goin the meets gonna be half the size it was last weekend.

were all guilty of something but fuck who cares now that it been brought to light we know what to do next time? i try to meet as much people as possible then i see this shit pop up about different groups and people not getting along or being involved its retarded where all equal at least thats how i always thought it was and ive been going to these meets since 2003(5 years)

arabian_ryda
look at calgarys meets they range from minumum 100 to 300 cars on weekends what makes us so different? last year we where getting up to 100 cars and it was good times now this past friday we where lucky to hit 50 if that theres a obvious tension and there shouldn't be.
where all tuners from different walks of life were like a huge family we support each other when some1 breaks down the group pulls over to help when some1s getting hassled by the cops we all help when shit gos down theres a line up of guys ready to jump in this is how it should be cause we a car club.

now i dont care if your a newb a car club import or domestic UNITED CYCLE welcomes any1 and every1 with a good and respectful attitude thats how it was and thats how it will be so no more talk of this veteran bullshit or peeps thinking there better then others cause of what they drive or whatever its nothing like that where all equal.

see u all u homeys this weekend and no hard feelings. ill be comin out with sheesha water pipe make sure to come introduce yourself cause this is gonna be a fun summer. always outdoing the last.

Godzilla
mmm, sheesha

Cheverz
Wow it's as if the vet's were ''GODS'' to the newbs its a bunch of fucking car crazy people what do you do.. Oh talk about car's its fucking simple if someone doesnt like you then thats it, some will like you some wont i have only been to a handful of meets as im newer to the city and i have made some great friends from 780 and some ''enemys'' dun dun dun.. in the end it's just nice to see everyones cars. wheather they like you or not, Everyone has friends that there gonna stick around so dont think your being left out im sure if there was a bunch of camaros in the corner of the parking lot i'd be over there chatting and such, just walk up to the ''GODS'' and say hi for fuck sakes.
End of rant -.-

P.S - godzilla (greg?) Your sig is awesome x10

arabian_ryda
theres no such thing as gods of these car meets yes some people have more expereince with routes and places to go but thats dosnt make them better in anyway and they know that i know most fo the guys and there all cool no1 thinks better of any1 and ifd they do then thats gonna be a disapointment for that individual(s) real quick. like said before where all bros and were all car guys those 2 alone will make a friendship haha so i wana see all the newbs and guys that think down on these meets to come out this weekend and where all gonna have a good time as a car club.

we shouldnt be havin a problem getting peeps to come out to meets but what we should be having prroblems finding a place to park all these rides haha i wana see the tuner scene in edmonton explode and to do that we need team work from all groups.

STiPWR
Regardless how long you've been going to the meets, how much of a social fucking butterfly you are, or what kind of bullshit car you drive has nothing to do with my original post.

I'm saying that there is NO NEED to create small meets across each street. I'm sorry I dont walk around to every fucking noob who shows up and suck his dick. The effort on communication has to be equal. You hide across the street, you don't put an effort into socializing, how the fuck am I supposed to talk to you?

I made an effort this winter at timmies, and got shunned off, just like all you crybaby's are talking about... Big deal. I moved on to others.

Drive RESPECTFULLY. I dont give a shit how fast or retarded you drive. When you're with a group of car enthusiasts, on property you have permission to be on, you be courteous to others, their meeting locations, and their vehicles.

Its really quite simple.....Or fuck the hell off to a parking lot somewhere else.

from our understanding there were probs with cops at the normal site at wem and someone suggested to go accross from my understanding to see if there really was a problem and if cops were still checking out that area. but as i was saying the whole time there has not been any problem with cops or security at wem. so i imagine that all of this has been a misunderstanding situation and the regular meet spots are going to continue as always. with everyones "car groups"! so enough drama and enough bashing! As for tires squaking and engines reving the shit out of thier bov, exhaust and alarms going off, im sure thats alot from both sides of people and those know who they are. so lets just drive normal for a few minutes then when they get back on the street they can do what they like.

welldone
UUGH! Really, This is getting boring. It's the same shit over and over... Aaron's got a good point. There is no need to have "mini meets" right across from each other, it's a slap in the face of the 5+ year old meet scene... misunderstanding or not, the WEM meet shouldn't have split

AuZZZie
I personally don't feel the need to talk to the peons as I know my vehicle and self are far superior to all else.

Does that make me a bad person? I like every other god needs peons to buff my floors and cut the grass. I'm more than happy to talk to anyone of you about the possibility of a job.

However. Aaaron I have perused your resume and feel you would not be suitable for the gardening position you applied for. Maybe some other time.

Godzilla
^does that mean i get the gardening job:D

same with everyone meeting at tims instead of UC, the summer meets have been at UC for years, it's a parking lot that we have permission to be on for the purpose of the meet. i don't get why i pass by tims on my way to uc every friday and see so many cars there. grab your coffe and come join us.

STiPWR
Another point.

In regards to these "vets" you speak of.

There are a few people who will carry some weight at the car meets. They are not chosen, it just happens... This is because they have been able to maintain a Law/Property friendly car meet for the last 5-6 years. They make the meets work. Its really quite simple.

These people will suggest meeting locations, routes, and ideas from their personal experience in the past. Ideas that keep the group together, away from traffic, and keep the drive fun. They are in no way close minded, and will entertain new ideas 99% of the time.

These people will walk up to you and tell you that you're driving like a fucking moron, in the best intentions for the cars, and the people's lives attending. They have seen many accidents, tickets and injuries. There is a reason why they get pissed off, and on the very rare occasion deal with repeated asshatery on a personal level.

And lastly,

There is no set number of "vets" or whatever you want to call them. The majority of the regular attenders carry equal weight, as they should be able to.

Would you listen to some guy who showed up at your doorstep and told you how to fuck your wife?

People need to grow up, this isnt junior high.

Oh! tell her that her rate will start raising 100/hr for every 10lbs she gains... This shit is getting ridiculous.

some good reading, and alot of good points here, from multiple people.

but the childish"they won't let us there to park and hang out so lets park here cause we can" shit is retarded.

its shit like this and the recent meets that i have been reading about that makes me redecide bringing my baby boy out so he can see the nice cars. that and having to weld child seat brackets into the teg's rear lol.

how have the meets been this year ? I kinda stoped going cause their was alot of new people coming to the meets for the wrong reasons... Or maybe thought it was cool making their tires sqweek with their stock cavalier with a hanging muffer... I have been a member for a long time and I was never full time there at ever meet but I see the change from 4 years ago to now

Personally I didnt know anyone comming to the meets
But two people recognized me from the forum which were Matt(rotard) and Edwin, shook hands with them, introduced myself and bam, been coming ever since.

Slowly the more often i came to the meets the more people I introduced myself to, like Aaron, Matt, Greg, Chad, Jayson, 440, etc etc ,the more welcome i was.

Theres really nothing to it guys, stop being prissy about it. Dont be shy, walk up to any group laugh at the jokes, have a good time.

If any of you see me at the meets, dont be afraid to say hi, im one of the few brown dudes there.. (might need a flash light to find me) :P i drive a red acura and a beige 240 sx
