Natural Gas bbq leak test/setup - Click HERE for Original Thread

the_neenyo
Anyone here willing to come over and setup the connection for a natural gas bbq for me? The natural gas outlet already has a shut-off valve and I already have the coupling/nipple and tape, it seems simple enough but i dont feel too confident in doing it just in case there are any leaks etc. let me know what you will charge and when you can do it, hopefully ASAP! Thanks

I can walk you through this, it's VERY EASY TO DO. Get some thread tape, wrap it few times around the threads that will be screwed into the outlet. Use a crescent wrench and screw it in tight. Done!! Turn it on and put some soapy water on all the fittings to check for leaks. No bubbles means no leaks.

Graphicsdude is correct.

and normal teflon tape is good enough for gas fittings.. We use it enough at work.
