| how long does it take? i googled it with no luck. any help would be wicked. for arguments sake say its a gelcap ASA pill |

That's kinda funny...most people want to know how long before they leave our bloodstream...you know people who have to go for drug tests
Anyways...it all depends on what it has to go thru as to how long it takes...
First you swallow the pill which then makes its way to your stomach where it mostly gets absorbed by your little intestine...then it trips over to the liver. The liver removes all the yucky things from your blood...there are not many drugs that get a free pass thru the liver
What you took in your mouth and what actually goes to your stream can be a big difference...it really depends because a lot of the drug gets killed off by the acid in our stomachs our how much the liver cleans out or how much stayed in the little intestine
The doctor gives you a dosage amount that coincides with what goes on in our body....so the amount he prescribes is enough to make you feel better even with all of what gets destroyed
The speed is when they are in our blood then they really move along but still they face many road blocks before they get to where they are really needed
