I was in an argument with an ex girlfriend. I took her phone to see who she was talking to. At this moment her father came home ( i was sitting in my car in the driveway)..
She was fairly mad so she said "dad he has my phone". He started charging at me that instant, I hit on the gas to get away (with the phone) , He grabbed my window and broke it off the track attempting to reach in and grab/punch me and I sped away.
2 minutes later he calls my cell and says bring it back, I said I want no confrontation with him , he said just leave it on his property, step, mailbox etc.
I drove back about 10 minutes later and left it on there lawn right beside the step.
Now they "Cant find it"
Interesting enough they were in the market for a brand new phone 2 weeks ago but it was to expensive (100 dollars to expensive to be exact)
Now they went out and bought a new phone yesterday for 450 dollars and want me to pay 100 dollars towards it.
I think they are pulling a fast one on me. But they are going NUTS saying they are going to call the RCMP, and they also are going to kick my gf (ex) out if she does not get the money from me, How fucked up is that?
What do I do.. I know I did wrong but I think i made things as right as I could and listened to exactly what he said. |

Well, you first have to decide if you want to pay the $100 because you fear what will happen to your ex-gf. If you do then I would just go ahead and pay, regardless of what anyone else says.
If you do not want to pay, then my opinion is to advise the father to go to the police if he has a problem with it. I would think that the police would deem it a civil matter and advise him to go to court, since you will state that you returned it to the location he specified and you have confirmation of a received call from him after the event.
My belief would be that there are two people in the wrong here, you for taking the phone (which started the situation) and him for "charging" at your vehicle and causing damage. Neither one of you is justified in your actions, and I have faith that the police would be able to recognize this. |

| I am neither a policeman nor a lawyer, but I know that the best possible outcome is to never speak to your ex or her family again. It's a "he says, she says" situation, and you can hassle him about your window if he keeps up about the cellphone. |

1. NEVER speak to your ex or family again.
2. It is up to you if you want to pay the $100.. If you do get it in writing
3. If you do not and he calls the police, be honest, tell your story... Although hind sight is 20/20 you should have thrown the phone at him..
4. Are you injured, swelling bruising, discolouration? if so take photos, if you are investigated, ensure they know of the assault.
Hope that helps |

1) Tell them to go and stuff it. It is not your problem. You fulfilled your end of the contract and left it in the mail box. Your obligation has been fulfilled. They have an issue, tell them to see you in small claims court.
2) Issues persist, file a complaint with the police about harassment. Maybe you can get a restraining order. That will always look good to his employer.
3) File an assault charge.
4) Make sure you tell the police everything. Honesty is the best policy. :D
5) If you have nude photos of her send copies to her parents and friends. Make sure to post them online. |

You still grabbed her phone from her...... does it matter who she is talking to if she is your ex?
"left it on the lawn" so you chucked it out your window?
There is 2 sides to every story, and yours sounds pretty convoluted.
Sorry, but maybe just give her the 100 bucks and be done with it. Its not that much money to be losing sleep over. |
