GOT BOOST
The grueling race against time to do a head gasket and head swap on the weekend. 18hrs straight on Saturday, 2 hrs to finish it off on Sunday. 20hrs from start to finish, including pics, work, and trouble shooting. =)

Location: My garage. Where else. =)

Not sure on the book time.

20 hrs was cleaning, repairing, fixed snags, took pics along the way. :D

oh ok. the snags and little things is what takes awhile on a job like that. for me it was cam timing and ignition timing for my teg. simple hgasket and timing belt turned into almost 10 hrs of work. then damn vacuum lines.

Sure, there is no rush for it.

I am pretty sure we are way over on our times as we needed to go back in some spots to remove a bunch of junk to fix a few major leaks as some stuff was not bolted down. We also fought with a few items such as the fuel line for about 45 min.

We also need to factor in the head component swap which took a few hours too. :D

I suspect that book time may be around 9-12 hours.

Mike,

I hear you. On the older cars, stuff can break very easy. It is time consuming to fix what broke, or repair what might break very soon. :D

Then there is the whole stubborn bolt, nut, part aspect. I suspect alot of book time does not take inconsideration time to remove/free rusted/seized bolts. :D

I am going to use the press next friday. I need to purchase snap ring pliers, so I can access the wheel bearing. :D

Thanks again for the Press. It will come in handy. :D
