So I dont post too much, but now that i actually have a car i'll be kickin around this place more often.

Picked up my 1992 Nissan 180sx at JDM tuners inc. in Calgary.

Paid 4600, which is respectable for the car. 162,000km on it, stock sr20det. Pretty happy about the car, it does need some body work but i got a couple hook-ups for that so it'll be nicer in no time. Car passed OoP no problem.

Get some bodywork, paint job (interior/exterior), matching rims and she'll look decent

AudiInProgress
I agree, black or burgandy and match the interior... It'll look great!

180guy
Yeah thats first up on the list, new front pass fender, and a paint job.

got some good plans for this car performance wise. it runs great for 160k. did all the fluids today, full synthetic mobil1 0w40 in the engine, 75w90 mobil1 in the tranny, and 75w140mobil1 in the rear. the car was a freakin gong show for wiring. pulled out about 15feet worth of wiring just for a set of fog lights that were mounted on it.

I work at crosstown dodge/chrysler/jeep so parts are nice and cheep(seeing how my dad is the parts manager ha!). gotta throw some brakes and some tires on the front, but im gonna try and find some matching volk racing rims for the front. not a big fan of whats on there now. labour is free(im apprenticing there) so its nice to have the access i got.

I'll keep posting pics as everything changes.

uh oh.. better get maaco.. car's seen better days.. but for that price.. it's not horrible.. but really... even if u have to rally this thing to cover up that paint.. do it. JDM wiring.. for the most part.. is shit. You'll need new wheels and suspension also. But definately interested to see what you do with this thing.

180guy
Yeah, i've got my eyes out for some tien coil-overs and some wheels right now, gotta make some phone calls for the paint.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Pawel, you dont know shit. You've owned one decent car that has coilovers. Don't quote and take everything to heart in what you read on the internet.

Back on topic. The car has great potential. Some body work and paint and she'll be look great.

Now THAT'S a car that deserved a rattle can flat-black paint job. Do it.

seevik
do a spray paint yourself, but do something diff then black
dark red, dark blue or something
otherwise i think you payed too much, so the more stuff you do and try yourself, the better

180guy
overpaid? the car has no rust on it, the suspension has no play, and the engine is super clean. you cant even find a 240sx with no rust for less than 4-5. trust me, i've looked.

the ONLY thing wrong with this car is the paint and that front fender. ive got a front fender already, and its getting painted.

Compression tested the motor today and its sitting at 150psi on all four cylinders. just replaced the rear brakes, and ive got a set of rims for it comming in. plus the paint job is being lined up for within a month or so. i'd rather get the suspension done up to what i want before i paint it. its really not THAT bad in person.

on order:
Godspeed 16 way adjustable coilovers
godspeed sway-bars/upper rear camber arns/tension arms for rear.
rear strut tower brace
then comes exhaust, but ill keep you all posted

Altezza
Looks like a great project car

Seen you a few times around st albert
looks good

Also saw you rollin on Yellowhead awhile back, your car sure does stick out :D What color you painting it?

180guy
I'm gonna keep the roof black(since its the only part paintwise thats in good shape) and then the rest of the body is going a nice subaru wrx rally blue.

My new rims will be a nice 5-7 spoke 18's, black inlay, and chrome lip. shall be nice.

I really gotta post some updated pics.

I recently got in a fight with a wall, and the wall won. so now i have two new front fenders, and the bumper is being spray bombed black for now. front end is black basically.

Got a full turbo back exhaust on the car, AEM Uego AFR guage, walboro 255lph fuel pump, suspension techniques sway bars, rims(shitty cheapies for now) and a turbosmart boost tee for controlling boost.

ordering my coil-overs next week once i get back from vacation.
