| I was just wondering if there is a limit on how many cars one person is allowed to register and if so how many. My brother told me one person is only allowed to register two cars each. |

| Yeah because i just got my first car and it will cost 4000 dollars for insurance yet if my dad is to insure it, it will only be 1000 so we were thinking about just putting it under his name. |

| If there are the same # of cars as drivers, your insurance will insist that you are insured on one of them... |

cmorin4 - Just run plpd w/ comprehensive... or go with paying the full price for collision and don't complain because then you have full coverage.
Sucks to be young :p  |

Yeah, the insurance companies don't like it when there are enough vehicles for the higher risk drivers.
I know someone that got really nailed by that. He had a pair of "toys" ('68 Camaro and a later model 'Vette) for track days and weekends, plus his daily driver and beater truck, then there was his wife's car.
The instant that his son got his driver's license, his insurance went nuts. They insisted that his son needed to be insured, not just on the DD or his wife's car, but on his fast cars as well.
I know that the kid is about as likely to get seat time in those cars as I am to get seat time int he Space Shuttle, but that's not how the insurance company sees it.
I'm not looking forward to the day that my kids get their driver's license.... |
