| I'll be going overseas this summer to Asia... how would I make a collect call to Canada or US in an emergency? (say, to cancel a stolen credit card, where 1-800 number doesn't work) |

Collect is about the worst way to call home, and the process will be different in all countries. The way to go is use calling cards with access numbers. You can buy them when you are there. Some will be better than others. Or, you can get something before you leave like nobelcom.
But, if I was in a pinch in asia, I would just grab a phone card and follow the instructions on it, or go to an internet cafe and use VOIP. |

Just buy a telephone card for the local area you are in. There are many, many different types that are locally available anywhere you go. You won't have a hard time getting one. |
