Since technology changes every minute.....
Im looking at buying a digital camera. Im just researching some now. However, I am looking for something good and is capable of taking quick shots. Some cameras seem to take forever from the time you click until the photo is actually taken. I am not a phot buff, but I am looking for a decent camera. I would prefer not to spend over $250 (as I have seen many under that price range).
Any suggestions? Anyones to stay away from? |

| While you will certainly receive lots of good advice from these kind folks, I would suggest checking out some reviews and ratings on CNET.com before making your choice. They usually give a pretty detailed explanation of why or why not the camera is quality as well. |

Canon Powershot A650 IS

| I personally don't like camera's that use AA-batteries... I don't see why they can't switch to the lithium-ion battery packs that the slim camera's use? Even if the battery pack itself had to be slightly bigger... I would much prefer to use that. |

The manual doesnt mean shit you idiot. Oh my manual says it's the best camera in the world... if it's written on paper it must be true! Specs on paper doesnt account for real life performance.
My friend purchased a kodak easyshare the same time I purchased my SD850. After taking multiple pictures on a trip, we compared photos and the canon is the clear winner.
I think this noob deserves a ban for stupidity. |

Well... It would be like if somebody created a thread asking for "Moderately Priced Sports Car?" And people came in saying Corvette, GTR, WRX STI, etc etc etc
...and then you chimed in with "toyota corrola!"
Same deal here. |

You bite your dirty whore tongue!
I would recommend the Canon Powershot Digital Elph bodies as well. Don't bother trying to get the highest megapixel unless you plan on printing billboards. 12mp for 99.99% of camera users is purely for bragging rights and in no way guarantees better photos. My first digital about a decade ago was a 3.4mp and it did poster-size prints without any problems. Find yourself a solid 6-8mp Elph and you'll be very happy with it. They are compact, powerful, strong battery life and offer tons of shooting options if you want to get creative.
Oh, and for the record, Kodak has actually made some really good digitals in the past and still do. Just because you don't like the name doesn't mean their products are crap.
Head over to www.dpreview.com to check out more detailed reviews of cameras in your price range. Most cameras offer sample photos as well. |
