pretty interesting read ( hope its not a repost )

july 11th, rogers wireless and fido are finnally releasing the iphone to canada ( not exactly sure with telus and bell) . The 3G i phone will start at $199 (8GB), and the 16GB at $299, both available in black and white.
One huge improvement is that finnally they realized the data pricing was redonkulous. new packages and a $7 unlimited data essential is now being offered with the release of the iphone but you can purchase this right now.
my plan before : $10 2500 txt msgs, $7 caller display = $17/month
new plan they just offered : caller display, voicemail , who called , caller id, caller name 2500 txt msgs 100 picture messages ,unlimited web browsing ( on WAP browser ) = $20/month |

Thats a great deal. I was looking into an Iphone before but I'll definitely get one now. Thats an awesome plane.
I've heard that the Telus/Bell cannot ever support the Iphone because of the transmission wavelength or something (lol sorry I'm a computer noob) |

rogers wireless.
i had asked about the 7 dollar unlimted plan i had been reading about. they said since i already pay 17 dollars a month extra for just txt msging and caller id i can have all that and more + unlimted data for only 20 dollars a month. pretty good upgrade  |

I can almost guarantee the iphone plan will not be 7 dollars a month. That plan is only for phones to use the internet through the Rogers portal, its not for using as a modem or blackberry's or win mo devices or iphone. I would look for Rogers to have the same monthly price point as ATT, 30 - 40.
and Telus/Bell will not get the iphone because they use a different technology altogether. Think of it as blu ray and hd dvd, two diff formats, iphone is not compatible with belus network. and Apple apparently has no plans to release a CDMA version that will work with belus. |

The iBrick = FAIL.
Not trying to be negative...but its just so huge. You need a man purse to carry it around.

| I don't get what is the hype with this thing. My friend has one and it's the biggest thing ever. If you are gonna spend that kinda money (if you have to buy it out) why not go with a Nokia N96. It's way smaller, has GPS and Wifi, 2 high resolution cameras, and is also 16G memory. |

I am personally anti-apple. Its not that I don't like their products, I just don't like the people that tend to advocate the products. Stupid reason, I know.
Anyways, I'm looking forward to the Samsung Omnia if I actually wanted a touchbased phone or the HTC Touch Pro with a fold out QWERTY keyboard. |

| I don't like Steve Jobs and Apple fanboys. Also, I am not one for fashion or following the crowd. All reasons I am not into the iphone |

no offense, but thats a pretty shallow reason for not using the iphone.
I've been using an unlocked iphone since janruary, and its awesome. I've never used such an intuitive touch interface, and I love watching seinfeld while im on the crapper at work lol
And its not as big as you might think from pictures. It's actually pretty slim....I used to use a nokia n73, and that thing was way more uncomfortable in my pocket then the iphone. |

| iphones are good I love them as well very slim easy to handle and navigate and the processing is smooth alot of phones lack smooth transitions from screen to screen prada is a very laggy phone and so is most of the eten and O2 phones its quite irritating... however I am looking forward to the HTC Diamond :) http://www.htc.com/www/product.aspx?id=46278 |
