Are there any places in Edmonton that are designated driver friendly?
I thought there used to be a few places around town that would at least give you free coke if you were a DD...

| Most places are pretty good for that kinda shizz. Unless you go to the strat. Then you're getting cheap beer or nothing. |

| I went to the bank and was DD when i was on meds, and they served me free pop and all that all night. I tipped the bartender basically every time though just to show i appreciated it. |

| I have had that at the Bank as well. The bartender took very good care of a friend and I, since we were driving. I tipped him every time I went for another soda as well. |

Did you generally have to verbalize that you were the driver for the evening? Or was it just that you were the only one who ordered a cola? |

i think if you candidly mention your off the sauce and have to drive that night they would be pretty good about it.
2 reasons
1) you are being responsible for your friends getting home safely- good for everybody
2) if your drunk friends are getting outta hand or starting shit having a sober friend is a easy way to quash any problems since the sober guy/girl would likely be able to talk some sense into drunk friends- good for bar bar/club |

When you're just getting a pop and it's the beginning of a night, it's kind of obvious that you're probably the DD.
Besides, get your friends to buy you a pop if you have to haul their drunk asses home at the end of the night. :D |

| Since I am the DD everytime im out I can speak on this a little bit. VERY few times do I ever have to pay for a pop when Im at a club of anykind and even if I do it is only ever the first one provided I got o the same bartender all night. I too tip whenever I get on anyways but as I said almost everyn single place will give you free pop, and I for the record never vocalize that I am the DD unless asked. |
