Sorry i couldnt make it yesterday guys, my buddy was looking at a 99 Civic Hatch and wanted me to drive it for him.
(He's new to stick and wanted my opinion)
And after driving what seemed to be a fast civic (D16Y7 I/H/E P&P)- Short throw- Shorter gear tranny, all that lovely stuff
(Hit around 160km in it) and then hopping in the lude (which i felt to be slightly underpowered) i found out the lude had some untapped power waiting for me.
Easily hit 190 last night on manning around 2:00am (could have gone 200-210 if the road was longer lol.)

Why does 190 seem like untapped power to me? well a week ago it took a really long time to reach 190 while going west towards the city on yellowhead whereas now it just went up there.
Aswell, my shifting for some reason was soo much smoother.
My verdict is that the chillier temperature made a biiiig difference. |

not to be rude, but a d16y7 is a pile of trash its rated at like 105 hp at the crank. the reason you felt it was fast was maybe because you guys went straight to bagging it, and the short gears make a differnece since it is reving up quicker. the reason your lude and felt untapped is your prob baby it, right? that could be the reason. and some times that chiller temp makes al lthe difference. |

I was thinking after we started to leave that I should've taken some pictures of that bike cop... he was awesome. Outa breath, and just cool about the whole thing. :beer: Hats off to him.
I don't know about Earls, but I think Sundays are generally a good time. Just sucks that prudz can't make it. I'd be up for having alternate days, then at least maybe Adam could switch things up at work. |
