| Group Buy: HID lights - great deal! - Click HERE for Original Thread |
| hockey_fan59 |
Mods, if i am violating any rule, please contact me. I am making no profit on this. Just trying to score a good deal on a few more kits for my cars. Thanks!
Hey guys,
I recently purchased some HID's for my cbr 600rr. They make such a huge difference not only for night time driving, but every rider knows how important it is to be seen in the daytime as well. I found a distributor that can get us a great deal if we purchase 8 or more units. (I am guessing the more the cheaper).
Brand: XenonVision
Warrenty: 1 year - covers only material defects
Ballast type: super-slim
Bulb size: Most sizes, find out what you need from this link.
http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerPro...eplacementGuide
Temperature: 5000-10000K (I'd recommend 6000k)
Price: 140 (with a few exceptions)
Everything is included for the kit to work.
Questions? PM me or call me at 9707369 (Chris)
Note: Please tell me your vehicle year/make/model. Some vehicles need special connections - which will be supplied.
I believe these are the newest type of HID's you can buy. The ballast is super slim and it has a separate igniter.
Both my friend (sx 2.0) and I (WRX and Cbr) have the exact HIDs with no problems to date. Material is of high quality and had no problems with installation. The reason I am setting this group buy up is because I want to purchase these for 3 of my vehicles.
To make it easier for you to decide, I have taken detail photos of the HIDs on my bike.
Video of them in action on my bike!
http://youtube.com/watch?v=Xir7bDyf5SA
What is included: (instructions, mounting tools, HID kit)

H4 Bulbs

Slim!:

Before:

After: (notice the cut-off line retained - wont blind oncoming traffic)

Low beam - regular
High beam - HID (it has no cut off line because it is high beam)

low beam only (6000k)

on my WRX

Friends SX 2.0

I apologize for all the photos.
I will require a 50 dollar deposit so I can place the order without getting ditched. If you pay me the full amount before, I will deliver to you within reason. Payment can be done in person or via paypal - add a dollar or two for transaction fee. (hockey_fan59@hotmail.com)
Any questions, feel free to contact me.
Thanks,
Chris

As soon as I fill up 8 spots. Right now we are 3/8.
If you are interested, please pm me or call me with any questions you may have.
Thanks
edit: updated list! |

is it only the h3s or can you get them for 9004 headlights as well, cause that style wont fit my truck without rewiring, and I require replacing a ballast as one seems to be defective, after the 1 year of course.
140 is a great price though... and I want a set for not only my headlights, but the foglights as well. |

PM'd.
I just saw with 10secdream's order- you can get High/Low rather than just low? what would that price addition be? I'd almost prefer to have high/low than just low.
Get back to me about that, but I'm still ordering two pair. |

Of course, hi/lo is must better than just low. I dont think the addition will be much more than 10-15 dollars. As I said in the PM, let me know when you decide.
Thanks,

The hookup itself is not tricky at all. Depending on how your headlights are mounted on your vehicle, you MIGHT have to do some custom fabricating - could mean some silicone sealant or something.
Otherwise, it is SIMPLE to install. CRXBOII i will put you on the list |

Just so everyone knows, the HI/LO kits are 10 dollars more.

Yay, 1 of two sets installed.. work fine, Bitch to get in, as the body behind the light is slightly longer than the originals, also they seem 5000k not 6000k, I could be wrong.. I'll check them out in a few hours for certain once its dark enough.. Be certain I have them installed, aimed, and functioning correctly.
The fogs I will have to manufacture a larger hole to fit the connectors, then those will be installed. (1/4" too small)
Thanks Again Chris. |

| Is you Hi/Lo kit HID for both the low and high beams? |
|
|
| Ruiner |
Yeah, it is.
There are two bulbs built together, low is the bigger one, High is both. |
|
|
| 10secdream |
| Oh weird because my low is HID and my hi is Halogen. |
|
|
| Ruiner |
I'll take a look again, but it looked Like the HID for both. I suppose I could have misunderstood your question as well.
Edit
Looked again, Yes the HI Beams are Halogens. |
|
|
| hockey_fan59 |
Did a bit of research. Turns out Hi/Lo kits do indeed have halogens for the high beam. If this is a big problem for anyone who ordered these kits and paid the extra 10 bucks for them, I can reimburse you the 10 dollars or give you a refund on your kit.
Just pm me or call me.
Thanks |

So far I have really liked the HID kits. The kits have everything needed to install and even the small things like zip ties and double sided tape which is nice. Everything is really small and the kit is decent quality so far. The real test will be how long they actually last.
Only issue so far is that the H4 kit has been a pain in the butt trying to get the high and low beams working on the factory wiring. So far I can only get the low beams to work but other than that I am satisfied. I probably won't even connect the high beams as they wont be needed. The only mod I might do is put the igniters on a relay so they have 12volts off the battery constantly. |

Same, I've decided i'm going to do that with my Highbeams, HI can't seem to get the highs working properly otherwise.
OR I might just wire them to the HID Foglights when I'm through wiring them, This way my High and Fog are on at the same time. also WAY less wiring that way., I gotta find a 3/4" drill bit. |

My apologies on the minor problems.
I should have specified that some not-so common vehicles may require a little rewiring. Thanks again 10secdream and ruiner for being so patient and understanding.
I should also mention that MOST cars will NOT require any rewiring at all. All the vehicles I have done (around 7) have been direct plug and play.
Thanks
Chris

| Mines a Dodge you expect it to be easy, ha. ;) |

I've been pretty happy with these HID's, so far. Lets see how long they last. For me it was just plug and play once I got two working bulbs:). Also had to re-aim my light because it was angled too high with the new bulbs.
Only one minor problem I noticed today, once the lights have been on for a while(say an hour or longer drive), and the balast gets hot, you can not turn the lights back on right away. (ie if you turn your lights off or flick the hi beams, they won't come on again untill your let them cool for a few minutes) |
|
|
| Ruiner |
| I think that depends on where you mount them.. mine have alot of airflow passing by them, and dont go out. |
|
|
| hockey_fan59 |
yeah that is odd.
I rode my bike for 2 hours straight and no problems with them.
Mounting location could very well be the difference |
|
|
| itsa300zx |
You seen my engine bay, almost no room to mount anything.
My car is known to run hot in the engine bay, thats prob. the reason. I may try to mount it under the front facia, between the head lamps to see if that helps. |
|
|
| Ruiner |
| careful not to mount them too low, any excess amount of water (even though they're sealed), may be bad for them. |
|

| I got mine in and working, I needed to swap the ground and power cable for the HID's but that only took a few seconds. Having a few issues but I know whats wrong, I just need to disable my day-time running lights. Unfortunately in my cavalier I dont have a nice cut-off so I need to do a bunch of work re-aiming them, also it really looks like the HID's light up the road more than the high beam Halogens... might be since mine are still pointed up into the sky. |
