got a buddy

mr2 over heated, has been having over heating issues but cant figure out why.

for a month or two it's fine and then it over heats.

he's been told thermostate but. to me it seems more water pump.

any ideas?

like it's steaming but not pissing coolant and it smells funny.

any help would be great.

Why?



More than likely the cooling system wasn't properly purged, and there is an airlock somewhere. The MR2 has a very specific coolant filling procedure that must be followed. Refer to the Toyota Service manual for the procedure.
